I’m sure this must’ve been a good story however the AI generated narration is awful. Sounded like someone telling a story to a group of kindergarten kids. Incorrect inflection, mispronunciation, ruined the book. I could not finish it.

I usually enjoy all of Robyn Carr’s books. Unfortunately, this one treated spousal abuse and a contentious, litigious, divorce as something one could move past very quickly, and fall in love almost immediately with someone else.

This is supposedly a story about two successful business people. When she asked him, “Oh we have a thing?” at their second meeting, his reply of “Are you asking about my thing?“ was gross.
Is this something that two professional adults would actually say to each other upon their second meeting? Or is it something that two 13-year-olds might say to each other?
I returned this thankfully free book.

The story has the potential to be sweet. Unfortunately it fell flat. The emphasis on her Dad only listening to men and his lack
of respect for his daughter was sad. Her lack of respect for her parents was apparent too. The way the main character used the sheriff was shameful. I am glad I did not pay for this book.
