Cry Ty CRY
Revisado: 04-24-25
Story NOT concerning Ty was GREAT... mostly.. Author does have an OBSESSION in this book with hurrying up those involved. rushing them from place to place so he came begin describing their continued suffering... and their suffering and they're still suffering.. and suffering more... no rest... MORE SUFFERING.... hungry, thirty, tired, thirsty, tired, hungry, most of the book is tired, hungry, thirsty, dying of suffering... not much of real ACTION. Just IN DEPTH descriptions of all their SUFFERING!!!
As much as I do HONESTLY love this series and author.. it's a dragged out suffer fest... but OMG TY.. Ty is supposed to be 16.. an adult by many cultures.. leading wars and conquering nations.. but he's just TOO NIEVE, TOO INNOCENT TOO well, dumb, at times.. magic? scrolls? I don't understand why is that beautiful girl acting that way? Why do I feel like this near her? There's sweet innocent and there's dumb as a rock in "love".. then there's Ty...
I hope Tys story gets better in last book... 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Narrator is TOP NOTCH and truly engaging!!!

Great Story
Revisado: 04-10-25
Get the short prequel first for better understanding, BEST introduction get STREET RAT series first, but if you jump straight until this you won't be too lost.
Great progression. Easy to like characters. plenty of action. Not extremely predictable. I lost myself into the story and couldn't wait to dive into the next book.. then the next...

Descent story TERRIBLE narrator.
Revisado: 05-21-24
The story is interesting, not overly GRANDIOSE.. but solid. Cool twists and turns to keep you interested. I think at times way too much introspection... over explaining simple concepts and feelings.. again and again.
Narrator ruins the books on Audio.. Monotone reading.. Same level of energy stiring the left over morning porridge as the intemse battles... none. Flat line.
Good as a value bundle for 1 credit.

SKIP THIS SIDE QUEST BOOK!!!
Revisado: 05-07-24
THIS BOOK SUCKS!!!
NO GRIPH IN THIS BOOK!!
I * love* this series!! I truly do!!! HOWEVER, this book is horrible!
Lex as a main character is terrible!! Innane babbling, Useless references and charter. CONSTANT whining and bitching and moaning.. and if this wasn't bad enough.. author feels the need to add a prepubescent, "EMO" preteen in all their ugly disrespectful glory... between the two of these jerks you can not get into the plot.
I'm sorry, but you'll thank me if you just skip over this..
GO STRAIGHT TO BOOK 7!!!
The way author separates things IT PICKS UP WITH GRIPH RIGHT AT THE END OF BOOK 5!!!
BOOK 7.. Back to his usual, kick ass, top notch standard. We all have our troubled times.. book 6 was his.

Historia
"There is fear and hatred in your eyes. To you I am a monster, a skulker in the shadows, a fiend to scare your children with. A creature to be hunted down and slaughtered llike a beast in the fields. It is time you pay heed to the beast. And see the beast in yourself. I have your fear. But I have earned your respect. Hear my story. Feel the flow of blood and be thankful. Thankful that it was me, not you, who bore the sword. Thankful to the Orcs: born to fight, destined to win peace for all."

Great story but not very Orcish
Revisado: 09-11-23
I loved the story in general. However, its clear to me the author is not familiar with Orcs. Leave no Orc behind, Caring for their own wounded, group comradiary, noble and honorable quest. Large worded vocabulary, military ranks and structures, organized addressing superiors as aa Sir! "Reporting as instructed Sir! Philosophical debates about existence... These are NOT ORC TRAITS!! They have all the behaviors of a proud, well honed, British naval troop!!!
If you take this into account.. forget it's supposed to be an Orc story... its a good listen though, GREAT performance, just not an Orc story by any stretch of the imagination.

almost great
Revisado: 04-28-23
Book 1, the foundation, was the best. Great ideas and setting. Her descriptions paint a nice city. foundation then it's all down hill....
Last 2 books are painful. Full of characters second guessing themselves, over thinking needlessly. Dragging out obvious points Terrible misdirection and characters i recognise from other stories... like the academy lurking "bad guy" that seems like he's an obvious villian, who ended up being an ally..... Snape is that you?
book 2 can be summarized easily as.. It's that the darkening? knock at the door.... It's that the darkening? A cup falls from the shelf... was that the darkening? A mouse farts within the walls . . Darkening?
Book 3 was horrible... overwhelming overthinking, fake delimas, and they all too familiar "hold hands and sing Kumbaya" ending..
This series has so much potential .. it just lacks strong, confident and decisive characters

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

This NEEDS to be a console game NOW!!!
Revisado: 04-19-23
Other than getting annoyed with the lead, Jason, from time to time... there's bold, and lacking tact then there's Jason... that aside.. These books kick ass!! Such intricate details, character development, imagination incredible!!
My other complaint is these books are too short!! Most books are 15 to 25 hours long.. I got the 9 book series, about 67 hours for them all? Left me wanting so much more!!
As an adult listener, I actually got sad at "someone's" death... and was depressed when I TORE thru this series, all 9 books in 1 week!!!! I just couldn't stop listening!!
You need to make this an actual console game.. I'll prepay for it now!! 😆😆
INCREDIBLE JOB, WELL DONE!!

NARRATION KILLS THIS SERIES!!
Revisado: 04-03-23
If this... "He went outside to get some arr, for a few Errs before he spied the Viking readers running across the rooks" doesnt make sense to you.. ABANDON ALL HOPE because the narration gets MUCH MUCH WORSE!
Flat toned, no engery, no different voice changes.. the narrator makes the entire series sound like one BORING run on sentence... describing combat with the same lack luster energy as folding a shirt...
Story seemed like it might be good.. but had to abandon my efforts after STUBBORNLY making thru the first book... couldn't take it anymore!!!
How this guy hit to read the entire series, I'll never understand.. couldn't have been read any worse.
THAT TERRIBLE ACCENT!!
Killed the series.. PERIOD.

Boundless meaningless rambling
Revisado: 03-01-23
The heroes of the story are barely in it... But you can join such wonderful topics such as exactly who commands the 3rd Regiment, each horse's name, every name of every soldiers sword.... listen in on a 9 minute inner monolog debate in Yennifers head about religion vs sorcery. Don't just say the world shuttered, but yet name every animal in the omniverse and mention how it turned its head, flapped a wing blinked farted .. yes learn of Tamerian scholars and feel like you took an entire semister of astrology as they explain how the Earth revolves around the sun. feel like you were there with Ciri as EVERY SINGLE WORLD she ran thru is described in painstaking detail...
I LOVE the authors work... but this was PAINFUL....
