I saw tan advertisement for this book on facebook comparing it to Wheel of Time. It’s nowhere close. Character development was sporadic and didn’t follow a gradual increase in power and knowledge of main characters. If I had it to do over again I probably wouldn’t listen to this.

The plot twists and turns.. the constant surprises. Thinking the characters will do one thing and they do the complete opposite plus a feigned right turn that is actually a left turn. it's fantastic. The evolution of the story really kept me interestered in the plot (I listenedto it virtually non stop between work and sleep. Really I picked it up.

First 2 books are great! Last book I couldn't get past the first hour. Departed from the interesting story and plot lines to dive into personal relationships with the obligatory modern themes that had to be inserted. *eye roll*

The story is engaging and exciting, but the performance needs an update. Stacy Krejci has the potential to be a great narrator, but he either needs to stop whispering or his audio editor needs to use a better compressor on the track. This is the quietest audiobook I’ve ever listened to, I had to crank the volume up to nearly max to make out half of what’s going on. And I feel like some of the sentences in the dialogue could have emphasized or stressed different words sometimes to make it less noticeable that Klopfenstein liked to use the same word a dozen times in quick succession.

In spite of my criticism of the performance however, this is genuinely an interesting tale of magic and twists and turns and I recommend it. Perhaps with the success of Klopfenstein’s Kickstarter campaigns for the fancy hardcover versions of these books, we can petition for an updated and improved audiobook too!

Lots of action and intrigue, hampered by a nearly inaudible narration.

The story is interesting, not overly GRANDIOSE.. but solid. Cool twists and turns to keep you interested. I think at times way too much introspection... over explaining simple concepts and feelings.. again and again.

Narrator ruins the books on Audio.. Monotone reading.. Same level of energy stiring the left over morning porridge as the intemse battles... none. Flat line.

Good as a value bundle for 1 credit.

Loved the story and characters also how the author used history to develop the story line. Wished we learned more about the villains history. Overall a great story and enjoyable listen.

This has been a good story, but somethings seem backwards to our own world. I know this is fiction come But the very last quote I heard about not bowing to our suppressors seems backwards to our own world. Why are we doing so now, Like china. It doesn't make sense that the fictional world here is becoming more free, and we are losing our freedoms everyday. Thank you for the story, but I think the narrator also needs to change to something more fitting. Thank you again
