This is top shelf storytelling - imaginative compelling and gripping. The best first contact story I’ve bought.

This is a gripping story that moves swiftly at a hundred miles per hour. It explores justice and morality, loyalty and betrayal , love and deceit, ruthlessness and survival in a neat package of complicated relationships.

On a future Earth where America is an autocratic christian theocracy, the impending destruction of the planet is denied and saving humanity is left in the hands of a multidimensional alien and a hard partying professor. The difficulties that surround saving humanity in such an environment are explored thoroughly from geopolitical, technology and human perspectives and I found it to be a “can’t stop” listen.

Good character development in a well told story. It reaches into the Bible as a recorded history source and the events of the story substantiate the source as credible. I enjoyed this stylistically too; the story was easy to consume and pick up after a break.

The characters interacted with a pair of apes in an entirely plausible way that reminded me of the depths and breadth of humanity. The book kind of asks us as a reader to examine our values and morality through emotional interactions with characters. I think that approach contributes to how easily I could keep track of where I was in the story even after walking a way for a day.

Well done!
