Historia
This hilarious, heartfelt, and soaring adventure will delight fans of The Goonies and Indiana Jones. Performed as a 1930s radio drama, it’s bursting with humor for all ages, orchestral scoring, and some of the most talented voices on Broadway. When their ace pilot parents (and adorable puppy) mysteriously disappear over the Pacific, the Flamingo Sisters - Flo, Faye, and Franny - escape the clutches of their evil Uncle Freidrich (who believes girls should never pilot aeroplanes) and join a flying circus.

A bit biased and repetitive
Revisado: 01-28-20
I would have preferred the author start by describing the ways politicians put money in their pockets, followed by examples. Instead the book starts with one politician, makes a vague case, then moves to the next. It would have been great to propose solutions to some of these problems. That said, the book convinced me that Trump is likely the least corrupt president in decades

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

I very much enjoyed the story. In particularl, one could see clear similarities to modern persons on the political scene, the way corruption works in the government, and how the media deals with it. I found it a refreshing story line

Historia
Gosnell is the untold story of America's most prolific serial killer. In 2013, Dr. Kermit Gosnell was convicted of killing four people, including three babies, but is thought to have killed hundreds, perhaps thousands more in a 30-year killing spree. ABC News correspondent Terry Moran described Gosnell as "America's most prolific serial killer".

Obnoxius, and emotional manipulation
Revisado: 02-25-19
My first criticism is with the narrator. They have a very heavy Irish accent. -which would be ok if the story was in Ireland, but it is in Philadelphia. It gets old rather quickly with the "off" pronunciations.
As for the story,it spends way to much time trying to manipulate emotions. For example, it describes the police entering Gosnell's house, in hazmat suites, and having to leave because the fleas from the cats were so thick. Hello, they have hazmat suites and they are flea proof. Totally pointless, except for character assassination. This sort of thing goes on and on, and becomes very tiring. It spends lots of time trying to personify babys that have been aborted. --I can't even recall how many times it was mentioned that Baby X was swimming in the toilet. --uh, people have to be taught to swim. Flailing might have been an appropriate term, but again there seems to be a focus on emotional manipulation. author also harps on Gosnell performing abortions for the profit. --The man was running a "pill mill", making a fortune selling prescriptions for opioids. I'm sure this is where the cash in his house came from, not abortions. He could make far more with illegal prescriptions than he ever could with abortions.
The only reason I gave the book a 3 stars over all is it rightly points out the media bias. This story largely has been ignored due to abortion being a taboo subject. Unfortunately, this has become far to common in this day in age.
Lastly, the title is misleading. I wouldn't put Gosnell in the category of a serial killer. His actions, while illegal, are very different than a predator or someone who kills to steal. Gosnell admittedly ended human life by performing abortions. He is guilty of murder by forcing a birth and finishing the job externally. --something where the fetus would have eventually died. Gosenell just hastened that. -Very different than Ted Bundy or Gary Ridgeway.

Historia
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name.

I couldn't even finish it
Revisado: 04-27-18
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone from the "me too" movement.
Would you listen to another book narrated by R.C. Bray?
Yes.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger at the author. If I want a winy book by a democratic pundit, I would have turned on the news. I listen to books to avoid that.
Any additional comments?
After approximately the 30th reference to how horrible our current president is, I quit listening. The truly ironic thing is the most significant law against human trafficking was just recently signed into law, but the president that this author hates.
My advice to the author is keep politics to your personal life and out of your business.

In 1929, in the blue-collar city of Portsmouth, Ohio, a company built a swimming pool the size of a football field; named Dreamland, it became the vital center of the community. Now, addiction has devastated Portsmouth, as it has hundreds of small rural towns and suburbs across America - addiction like no other the country has ever faced. How that happened is the riveting story of Dreamland.

Revisado: 06-23-17
A great subject. I would have preferred a bit more background on the differences in manufacturing various opoids. Drug diversion was another rich area barely touched. The Mexican aspect got repetitive. Makes me want to know the number of times Xalisco and Nayarit were used.

The most fatal virus known to science, rabies kills nearly 100 percent of its victims once the infection takes root in the brain. From Greek myths to zombie flicks, from the laboratory heroics of Louis Pasteur to the contemporary search for a lifesaving treatment, Rabid is a fresh, fascinating, and often wildly entertaining look at one of mankind’s oldest and most fearsome foes.

A horrid lack of direction
Revisado: 10-29-13
What disappointed you about Rabid?
The book is very predictable. It goes between bashing dogs, to how some horror story might have been rabies, then back to dogs, then on to some author who might have been influenced by rabies, and so on. There are a few rare moments where some useful information is given but they are far and few. You will probably lean more about rabies from Wikipedia than this book. --In short this is best described as a bad PHd thesis, which might have been ok if it were entertaining.
From a performance perspective, the reader drones on.
