Historia
When our story begins, Julia Child is an eager but inexperienced codebreaker longing to prove herself in the male-dominated world of intelligence, and Josephine Baker is, well, Josephine Baker—a world-famous entertainer who is now leading a double life as a spy for the French Resistance. When a golden opportunity arises to infiltrate a high-stakes Nazi gala in Vichy France, Julia must put aside her by-the-book mentality to assist her unorthodox new partner.

If Cotton Could Talk," is a civil war era historical fiction novel about 19th-century slave life in the South. Excellent book. The book itself is well written. When listening to get the feeling of being there when hear the situations occurring with the characters. It’s a very gripping read and if you ask me, a bit too short. It’s captivating! Enjoyed it even though it is a tough subject matter. It’s like looking into history from the not just the slaves perspective, but the slave owners as well. A more in depth take on history, than listening to documentaries on the subject of slavery. Again…excellent story.

I liked the story enough, but the reading of the story by Ai or whatever automated voice was not so good. Words were said incorrectly, which tweaked my ears. And the reading lacked real emotion. It was a nice story.

It reminded me of a time when my race was proud to be black. We dressed well and carried ourselves well. I love how Muhammad Ali didn’t shrink away from being what n who he was, a man of conviction, and deep integrity. He didn’t waver in being who he was born to be. He embraced it, while embracing each of us where we were at. He was a blessed man. An Awesome man with an awesome name. Amen 🙏🏾

This story had me going. But it also reminded me that we need to be honest with ourselves as well as each other. Because as the saying goes, “ Time waits for no man.” And the dash (-) between the year we were born n the year we die is all the time we have to live and to give. Let’s not squander it. Love and live like there’s no tomorrow.

Entertaining yet deeply honest read
Revisado: 01-02-25
To hear someone tell THEIR story about Covid 19, and recount all the ways that governments of various countries handled the epidemic was very telling, indeed. I felt sad, upset a remembering how things were handled, and I even laughed at his humorous comments .And Sir David Hare’s revelation on how he had to submit himself to the process of healing naturally was eye opening as well as thought provoking. Lovely reading.

Historia
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Awesome storyline and the narrator. She gave it justice!
Revisado: 12-29-24
One or two small spots went on a TINY bit, but it was all relevant and therefore tolerable. A very climatic story. You’ll think you know these characters personally {laughing). I liked tidbit of facts that webbed into the story, the cultural aspect of interracial dating, way the story was written, but especially the narration. It was SO immersive!! thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍👍👍
