Performance stellar

Ooh, I could listen to that amazing voice all day. The narrator, coupled with this amazing story deserve far more than the five star allotment.

Pretty good.
Revisado: 07-13-22
Unfortunately, I just finished “Night Chills.” Had “The Silent Corner” not been so similar, I’d have enjoyed this story more. That’s not to say Dean Koontz is always a bit repetitive, because he’s not. This is good story telling. However, a word of advice would be to listen to this story long after “Night Chills.”

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Different but great.
Revisado: 12-14-21
I read an initial review saying how sexist this title was, and how bias against men in general the King’s seemed to be. That in mind, I tried to give it a fair chance. It obviously was geared towards the flaws of men, but when I really diagnosed the thesis, it seemed to be more a problem with humanity in general, and Mother Nature’s, or the deity of your choosing(s) way to cleanse the Earth. Listened to carefully, this is a beautiful story.

Historia
When a freak accident kills a driver on the remote roads outside Duluth, Jonathan Stride is disturbed to discover that the victim appears to be a "ghost", with a false identity and no evidence to suggest who he really was. What's worse, the man has a gun locked in the trunk - and it has recently been fired. The next day Stride learns that a Duluth college student has vanished and worries that the two incidents are related. But what would have put an ordinary young woman in the crosshairs of a man who has all the hallmarks of an assassin for hire?

Can’t go wrong with Joe
Revisado: 05-17-21
The story isn’t really why we’re here. We’re here for the narrator, Joe Barrett. Phenomenal performance by him once again. That being said, Brian Freeman is a good writer, and the story was as good,if not better than the others books in this series.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

The physical book was amazing, but this audio format made me fall in love with the story all over again. This is King’s best work by far.

Good, not great. In fact, just as it was getting real good, it ended. Worth the listen, just don’t expect too much.
