Historia
Shy, introverted Dr. Cate Kensie never imagined that she would inherit a beautiful, and oddly quirky, castle nestled in the picturesque Scottish Highlands. Truthfully, she was sure that she didn’t have any family left after her parents died in a car accident several years before, but then, she had gotten the phone call, and her entire world had turned upside down.

Slow moving but promising
Revisado: 11-16-24
The book was slow moving and too much time getting to the truth that being said I did read through the story lines of the other books in the series and once through this book I’m looking forward to the other books in the series.

Historia
Lord Rosemorran has purchased a wax figure of a beautiful reclining woman and asks Stoker to incorporate a clockwork mechanism to give the Rosemorran Collection its own Sleeping Beauty in the style of Madame Tussaud’s. But when Stoker goes to cut the mannequin open to insert the mechanism, he makes a gruesome discovery: this is no wax figure. The mannequin is the beautifully preserved body of a young woman who was once very much alive. But who would do such a dreadful thing, and why?

Revisado: 03-30-24
This is my favorite series by far. I am always sad when the book is done and I know I have to wait for the next but wait I will! The author is brilliant and I love all the extra eccentric characters and animals she comes up with. I laughed, held my breath and was never bored. We’ll done as always

Enjoyed the intrigue
Revisado: 01-21-24
Story was very good. After the introduction stated it was AI read I almost didn’t listen but wanted the story from the storyline. The AI was horrible I don’t think the audible books are ready for AI. So many mis-spoken words it was frustrating at times to continue but still enjoyed the story and characters

Historia
London, 1922. Between gallivanting in his Rolls-Royce and darkening the doorways of London's hotspots, Lord Reginald "Rex" Bankes-Fernsby has almost succeeded in banishing the battlefield nightmares that plague his sleep. Pity he can't say the same about that nagging lack of direction in his life. If only he were like his best friend Freddie—self-assured, suave, and up to his ears in secrets. But when Freddie is murdered, Rex doubts the verdict. Was Freddie really cut down while up to no good, or was he killed in the line of duty?

Great story line
Revisado: 12-06-23
Loved the story. Looking forward to the next book to come out. The 2nd background story was easy to figure who was responsible but still a great backfill on the two main characters start. Loved them being tied together from the start

Historia
Yorkshire, England. August 1832. Relations between Sebastian Gage and his father have never been easy, especially since the discovery that Lord Gage has been concealing the existence of an illegitimate son. But when Lord Gage is nearly fatally attacked on a journey to Scotland, Sebastian and Kiera race to his side. Given the tumult over the recent passage of the Reform Bill and the Anatomy Act, in which Lord Gage played a part, Sebastian wonders if the attack could be politically motivated. Mistletoe is beautiful and dangerous, much like the woman from Lord Frederick’s Percy’s past, so when he turns over a new leaf and arranges to marry for his estate, instead of his heart, he never expects the wrong bride to be the right choice. Gracelynn Ferguson never expected to take her elder sister’s place as a Christmas bride, but when she’s thrust into the choice, she will trust in her faithful novels and overactive imagination to help her not only win Frederick’s heart but also to solve the murder mystery of Havensbrook Hall.

Historia
Assisting an overwhelmed insurance appraiser with the inventory, Addie discovers an 1887 magazine containing Arthur Conan Doyle's first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet, which she estimates to be worth over $150,000. But when Addie later finds the appraiser dead in the estate's private library, with the door bolted from the inside, and the priceless edition missing, it's a mystery worthy of the Great Detective himself. She's certain the death and the robbery are connected - but who, other than a ghost who can walk through walls, could have gotten in to do the deed?

Tried to stay with the series….
Revisado: 11-03-21
I tried to stay with the series but had to give it up after this book. I do not like the Simon character at all. Mark should have been the one for Addie. The story was good I just don’t like the way the characters turned out. First time not sticking with a series😔
