Historia
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

It’s a fun book.
Revisado: 03-26-25
This was a fun book to read after i finished Starship Troopers (the book,.. not the movie). It’s nice to see women standing along side men in combat. I enjoyed much of this but there were some parts that made me roll my eyes. FYI: humans leave tracks in snow.

No voice actor,… just terrible AI Virtual Voice
Revisado: 09-05-24
Steel Guardian was narrated by Tristan Wright. She did a great job!! I loved how she used different voices for different characters and her intonation.
This book, Steel Defender, has AI Virtual Voice that is just god awful!!! It all monotone, has no intonation, it just drones on and on.
I am half way through it and WILL NOT be buying the other books in the series as they, too, are read by AI Virtual Voices.

Historia
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites.

If you like the other books than this one is 4 out of 5 stars. I really just wanna finish this series. Rhysand sounds like Batman to me.
As someone that plays D&D I am frustrated with the “You have used this spell in the past,… use it now”. And they don’t.

Historia
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.

Hard to believe the main characters 21 and Rhysand is 500 years old.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Book 2 was a good read. It keeps your attention and has sooooo much character growth! Lots more background on the different Courts. Feyre learns more about her powers and how to weird ‘em.
And, at the end of the book, it leaves you itching to read book 3 !

My daughter pushed this book on me. I enjoyed the character development and the fey realm. Lots of who is plotting against whom in here. As a guy that plays Dungeons & Dragons I was kinda surprised that they did not cast raise dead on two of the fallen! Like, “let’s raise this dead person,… but not those two over there”.
Also,… I enjoyed the voice acting.

Basically the Blacksmith gets what he wants. And, for some reason, the ladies that live with him do what they are told without question. This book is so slow and boring and predictable. If you like that kinda book,… this is for you.

Historia
They first appear as a series of dots on astronomical plates, heading from Saturn directly toward Earth. Since the ringed planet carries no life, scientists deduce the mysterious ship to be a visitor from another star. The world's frantic efforts to signal the aliens go unanswered. The first contact is hostile: the invaders blast a Soviet space station, seize the survivors, and then destroy every dam and installation on Earth with a hail of asteriods.

Revisado: 10-14-23
Remember, this was written in 1985 when the Soviets were still in power an the USSR was ready to nuke the USA. If you liked lucifers hammer you will like this too.
Lots of lose ends tie together in the end.
Kinda fun to see the archetype heroes of 1980s and kinda sad to see the blatant lack of equal rights.
I really enjoyed the voice acting.
