The virtual voice was terrible and distracted from the sweet story. I would have enjoyed it so much more with a live voice.

Historia
Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

Historia
Like most Americans, you might think of Ben Carson as a trailblazing brain surgeon and, in the last few years, as an outspoken commentator on national issues. But his wife of more than 40 years knows him as so much more: A loving husband, a devoted father, a devout Christian, a committed philanthropist, and a fierce patriot. Now Candy Carson introduces us to the private side of a very public figure as she shares the inspiring story of their marriage and their family.

Historia
What a delight it is to finally be able to enjoy a simple meal again! I have been in the throes of morning sickness for the last few months as Darcy and I prepare to welcome a brand-new addition to our little family. Now that I am feeling better, I have realized I am dreadfully bored! It seems that all my nearest and dearest are off leading their own busy lives while I sit at home and attempt to train our two adorably naughty puppies. Fun as it may be, it is hard not to long for a little adventure, a change of pace, before my true confinement begins when the baby comes.

Disappointed
Revisado: 12-10-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I was disappointed after watching the TV series on Netflix. Kerry Greenwood's book didn't provide the romantic tension provided in the TV series.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Include the romance between Phrynie and Inspector Robinson.
Could you see Cocaine Blues being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
TV series already done and done well. Waiting for a movie or additional episodes for TV series.

Historia
The longest reigning British monarch and female sovereign in history, Queen Victoria was a figure of profound paradox who has mystified historians for over a century. Now in this magisterial biography, A.N. Wilson rebukes the conventional wisdom about her life - that she was merely a "funny little woman in a bonnet" who did next to nothing - to show she was in fact intensely involved in state affairs despite a public façade of inaction.

A fascinating history of a fascinating woman.
Revisado: 04-12-16
This was a history with which I was mostly unfamiliar. I found it fascinating. Some of the political history was not easy to follow but I got through it. The family history was really great and it was so interesting to see how all of her children were married to royalty in other European families. One thing I did not like was the French part since I don't read or speak French.
