Amazing as always! I love how you take us in your journey, good, bad and ugly. As always, it's a cautionary tale for us to take away and implement into our lives.

I wanted to like this book, but it was kinda boring. It might help if it had a real narrator to make it a little more exciting. The virtual voice is not the worst I've heard, so that's a plus.

Historia
For years, Eddie Lee Sexton ruled his large family like Charles Manson. The depraved patriarch dominated his ragged brood of twelve children mentally, physically, and sexually, and enforced every cruelty imaginable, from vicious beatings to raping his daughters and fathering their children. Finally, in 1992, Sexton's eighteen-year-old daughter Machelle, seeking refuge in a women's shelter, revealed the shocking, sordid details of her father's abuse to authorities. As the law attempted to catch up to Eddie Lee Sexton, he moved his family to a mobile home in western Florida.

Revisado: 09-29-24
I do love the huskiness of his voice and it would have been good, but it was just a little too deep and quiet that, to my ears, he sounded as if he had a mouthful of marbles. Maybe just some audio tweeks could help greatly. I feel like I missed a lot of the good details bc of not being able to hear, even at full volume or trying to decipher what he had said. Also I think I just had audio fatigue from the voice. I know I would love this book with just a few little tweeks!

This book is a quick with no fluff. It gives the event as its understood it happened. It's not very indepth, but does the job. As always the AI narration stinks, but wasn't too bad.

While writing Chrysalis, my mind would, of course, return to the hospital room where I regained my life and freedom. As I strived to explain the experience, I noticed how it had changed me and set me on a better path to the rest of my life. This unusual experience, though difficult, improved how I react, and accept many good and not so wonderful things to come. If I were to meet you and take your hand, if at that moment I could give this learning to you, how glad it would make me! I extend this hope to you in book form. My intent is to tell you to “never give up,” never to be so ...

The Notel Cartel is a family consortium for human trafficking. They abduct women for prostitution, harvest their men for body parts, and sell their kids. For many of their victims, trouble starts at the local inn, the Notel Motel. The corrupt county sheriff Bubba Notel heads up the family. The profits are lucrative. Excerpts: “Oh look, Dermot. There's a place up ahead, the Notel Motel. Rooms $9.99. Free cable TV, pool, spa, steam room.” “Sounds too good to be true. Something's gotta be wrong with it. Why else would the sign say Vacancy, and there are no cars at all in the parking lot?...

I couldn't get past 10 minutes. The AI voice is horrible and the story line, not much better. It might be a little more tolerable with a different reader. FYI: Not a book for anyone who is triggered by abuse.

Her own mother, a.k.a. her lifelong narcissistic abuser, has other plans: She is taking wild and unthinkable steps to put a halt to the completion of Dani’s book. the story was great and not easily predicted, which I always enjoy! Although this was the best AI narration I have listened to, it still missed the emotions needed to keep you wrapped up in the story!

This is the 2nd book I have listened to with computer narration and it's awful! No emotions whatsoever so ever! I liked the idea of the story and it kept me interested, just wish it was a real person. I had forgotten it was AI reading until and emotional part came and it was monotone.

The AI is hard to listen to
Revisado: 01-24-24
The emotions are lacking. A distraught parent isn't going to respond as the AI read it. I feel like I'm listening to a teen presentation of the book reading. I can't tell if I like the story or not bc im busy trying to add emotion to the words to get the full feel of the story.
