I would like to preface this review with the fact I am not normally a fan of Aliens, but Mrs. Hollstein's writing worked for me. With so many sci-fi stories telling us about aliens arriving through telling the story from the point of view of a sympathetic alien, this story does not. I was pleasantly surprised by the author's embrace of the genre and adding elements of both horror and thrillers. I found myself compelled to listen as I became enthralled with the characters early on. The story grabs you right away and does not let go for the full five and a half hours of the story. The narrator was a good choice and his clear speaking voice and character inflections were a great addition.

Good Audiobook collection

This is the perfect audiobook for those looking for a collection of stories or if you're like me best for a reader with a short attention span. The stories did not share the same or similar structures but each author's work was a pleasant addition to the lot. There was to me not a singular theme. I would have liked a collection more based on a central theme but that is a personal issue. The issue for me was that of the narrator seeming rather robotic and not embracing the characters or their emotions full. I feel this does little justice for the many authors' hard work.

A narrative of the burdens a writer faces

"You only get one shot" This story illuminates the burdens many writers face both real and imagined. Such a clever way to express the anxieties of thin-skinned writers as they offer up the contents of their creative heart to the uncaring and sick world. I have personally encountered the type of readers that the authors discuss in the narrative arc of the character's inner and outer story. I could not stop the audiobook once I started it. The narrator's vocals were smooth and engaging even with the thick accent.

Great short story

The story was a solid short scare. Its main character was well thought out and easy to get behind. The pace and flow of this story was spot on for keeping the listener focused on the unfolding tale. My only issue was that the narrator's voice had a slight echo possible from a location not properly set up for audio recording.

These are trues stories of Horror and Murder

Mrs. Tidy has definitely shown that she researches her work to ensure accurate accounting of these sometimes horrific and other times just plain odd stories. I was so taken by the chosen tales that I researched the stories laid out by the author. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of embellishment on the terrifying tales contained inside. While I do love these collections of unsolved cases I can honestly say I am looking forward to future original work from this author. My only issue was with the audio work of Martin James as it came across as a little lifeless at time.

Well Written and Researched

Mrs. Gaiman's work in this volume of real-life horror tales is inspiring, to say the least. Some of these stories I did recall from the news and other periodicals. While the stories were not original they were presented in a fresh way to readers new and old. The strength of her writing style is only enhanced by the narrations of Scott Dabbs's voice work. This combination seems a perfect pairing.

Gaiman never fails to impress

Mr. Gaiman's works have always been a favorite of mine. This classic of his has always been a personal favorite. The performance of the cast is perfect for this audiobook. I found myself drifting away with the presentation and before I knew it I awoke from my daydream happy with my choice and the choices of narrators.

Great Audiobook

Davis and Fields created a quality book that offers incredible insights into the mind of children and young adults. This will be an invaluable tool for all authors looking to write in any children or young adult genres. The performance of Mrs. Quinn was a great selection for this volume. I found myself melting into the details of this book. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Mrs. Tidy definitely did her homework before writing this book 9thought it comes across as so much more than just a simple book). I indeed enjoyed her approach to the exploration of these stories, tales, cases, etc. While most of the information of these tales can be found easily online. Her retelling was imaginative and thought-provoking. The only issues I had with this audiobook was the narration of Mr. Hansen. To me, his performance was flat and too youthful in tone. I would have used someone with a more seasoned voice.
