Historia
Once again, Kate Connor has a problem. Several, actually. For one thing, her daughter has figured out that mom is a demon-hunter - and wants to be just like her when she grows up. And there's that nagging suspicion that her dead husband has come back to life in the body of another man. Plus, her living husband still doesn't know her secrets. Not to mention the fact that she's acquired a mystical item that the entire demon community seems hell-bent on reclaiming.

Getting repetitive
Revisado: 04-11-25
This series is starting to get repetitive and the ongoing stupidity of 'keeping secrets' is getting very old.

Tired of the whiny main characters
Revisado: 03-31-25
Geez, book after book of someone who can't stop whining about how horrible things are and how things show up in their dreams, blah blah, over and over. I made it through the first book or two expecting people to mature and become rounded characters, but this is just the same thing over and over. I even started into the early part of the 4th book before I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore. Unfortunately audible doesn't allow you to return books you BUY, what?, or I would return the whole series.

Repetitive to the extreme

Same thing over and over. Oooh, the program is past it's boundaries, ooh, cold chill down the back... Over and over. May have gotten better over time, I just couldn't finish it.

Great series
Revisado: 11-28-24
This whole series was very good. It ended a little faster than I would have hoped, but still well done. The entire series focused on the positive relationships between the two main characters and the people they worked with. No major angst, backstabbing, or political agendas continually shoved down the readers throat as so many of the current authors seem to believe are needed in every book.

Fun and easy listen
Revisado: 11-11-24
Lately every new book that comes out seems to have a political agenda from left or right. It was nice to listen to a good story without that junk in it. Fantasy books should be fantasy, not a rehash of the author's political bs in the story line. A good story line, main characters are enjoyable with good humor spread throughout the books.

Should have read the reviews.
Revisado: 07-08-24
I have to agree with many of the review titles. A bad combination of Moby Dick, jurassic park and broke back mountain. Characters are plastic and spending what seemed like hours digressing into 'souls coming from the moon'. Major pass. I would return this, but I feel like it was my fault for not reading the reviews before buying.

Historia
The end of the era of humanity was marked by the appearance of the World Dungeon and the system of power it provided. No one gained more power than the tyrant known as the Black Seraph, the Angel of Genocide. Surviving at the expense of the rest of humanity, Seraph was able to complete the World Dungeon upon reaching the Altar of the End. A hollow victory, as he was cursed by the spirit of the dungeon for ruthlessly focusing on his empowerment.

Antihero or just a moron?
Revisado: 04-19-24
Spoilers below. The 'hero' of this book is supposed to have been a dictator psycho who committed mass murders etc, and went through this horrible trial where he basically destroyed all of humanity, only to find he failed in the overall objective of saving humanity. He's told that he needs to try again, sent back to make a second attempt. So, after hearing he totally failed the first time, his solution is to double down and become and even bigger animal, almost immediately killing someone and starting down the exact same path he proved he failed at the first time. Pass.

A full book credit for a 1.5 hour book.
Revisado: 03-04-24
It's a cute story, but didn't notice the length was only and hour and a half. Calling this a book in the series is a serious stretch. At most, this could be called Book 5.5. Don't waste a credit on this. Yeah, my fault for not noticing, but I would suggest that if you are interested in the story, just buy it with cash and save the credit for something worth it.

Spoiled brat main character
Revisado: 12-08-23
I have to say the series was good enough to get me all the way through it without quitting, but after finishing, I wish I hadn't. The main character seems to be a psychopathic narcissist, willing to burn down thousands (millions?) of civilizations, kill billions, all to 'get an answer'. The author preaches how corrupt the systems is, being used by beings willing to let the universe burn to the ground for their own 'corrupt' personal interests, only to immediately turn around and abuse the system to fix things to match his own personal interests when he finally takes power and kicks the evildoers out of power. Main character does little to no personal growth in the 10+ years the series is supposed to cover.

Fast review for a fast ending
Revisado: 08-08-23
This entire book seemed to be a result of an author who has become bored or lost interest, and has decided to end the series in one book to avoid having to continue working on it. You can pretty much throw out the other 4 books. Spoilers after this point. All of the world building was for essentially nothing. A race that only reacts when it calculates a 100% probability of success puts its ultimate queen in front of a number of individuals that have shown themselves to be unpredictable? And 'Super Dave' saves the universe while the rest of the team does nothing except fail. I rated the other 4 books in the series with 5 stars. I'm being generous to rate this as 3.
