2 thumbs down for AI narration
Revisado: 02-03-25
The narration killed it for me. The story itself was engaging but every time I started to get into it the narration would just be so bad that I couldn't stay engaged.

Historia
Khloe Moore has secrets. She came to Fallport, Virginia, under false pretenses, only intending to stay for a short while. Over a year later, she’s found the town has everything she’s ever wanted, including friends, a supportive community, and a boss she kinda wants to smack—sometimes with her lips, sometimes with her hand. I always enjoy the string female characters. I especially liked the storyline tease right at the end.

Historia
Caryn Buckner’s fondest childhood memories are all from Fallport, where she spent every summer with her beloved grandfather. Now she’s back for an extended visit. Long enough to make sure her grandpa is on the mend after a vicious attack…and maybe figure out the next steps in her life. She’s been a New York firefighter for years, but experiencing blatant sexism in a series of all-male fire stations has worn her down. Maybe things will be different in a small town.

Another awesome book by Susan Stoker. I especially love how she ties all the books together with a passing reference to a character from another series.

For a short little read, this was light and refreshing and a nice reset between some deeper and more emotionally challenging stories.

Historia
I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that's been gnawing at me ever since - Presley. And now I know I have to win her back at any cost. Fate steps in when we discover hidden stories from the past. And they're an opportunity I can't pass up. The just might be the path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making.

About the narration:
Revisado: 07-01-20
I'm not a fan of Scott Eastwood in this production. I'll try another of his productions to try and determine if it is him or just this production. Either way, his character played oot about the time I had been ready to quit the book entirely.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author, Eric Van Lustbader, returns with another Jason Bourne thriller as he spars off against another deadly agent - and he might be the perfect match for Bourne. Facing down mercenaries in Africa, Jason Bourne witnesses the death of an art dealer named Tracy Atherton. Her killing dredges up snatches of Bourne's impaired memory, in particular the murder of a young woman on Bali who entrusted him with a strangely engraved ring-an artifact of such powerful significance that people have killed to obtain it.

Loss of thread from last book a let down
Revisado: 01-16-13
What did you love best about Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Objective?
The story as a whole was as expected from the Bourne series, with the one exception of dropping off where the last book was and picking up where the last movie was. Anyone that had seen and read the last book knows what I am talking about. I understand that there was going to have to be a reconciliation for the series to continue, but I'd have been more pleased if a way was found to address the Bourne family as we had come to know it and go on with the Bourne program without loosing the thread of the original family.
If you’ve listened to books by Eric Van Lustbader before, how does this one compare?
Yes, this one is very similar in style.
What about Scott Sowers’s performance did you like?
I didn't notice the narrator, which to me is a good thing.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The only extreme reaction was that the story line took such an abrupt change at the very beginning.
