It was a good story but did drag a bit and was a bit wordy. This was clearly an early book in Patricia Wentworths long
Writing Career. She definitely improved in her writing skills with the “Miss Silver” mysteries
I would suggest reading a few of those before deciding whether she is a good writer
I have read most of those and loved them. The narration was very good.

Timely story about the world of Big Pharma and the cut throat tactics they use to have control over the marketplace
It Gives a good portrayal of the greed graft and corruption in the pharmaceutical Industry
The only negative was the overlong descriptions of surfing which I found boring.
Narration was excellent

The story was a good continuation of “The Librarian of Boones Hollow” nice character development
However I would have stopped listening in the first 5 minutes if I haven’t listened to the first book which had an excellent narrator
Virtual voice will NEVER replace a real person
The mis pronounced words and the expressionless narration was terrible
No more virtual voice for me!

Overall a good story . I was a little impatient with the lack of understanding of the wife and daughter assuming a
Person with advanced dementia could be left alone for more than a few minutes without supervision.
Some unnecessary predicaments because of that .
Liked the character development .The narrator was good.

I really enjoyed this heartwarming story about the “Packhorse Librarians” serving the mountain people of Kentucky.
During the depression .
It was well researched and told in the authentic mountain language , traditions ,prejudices
And superstitions of the time.
I thought it was a lot more endearing than “Christy” by Catherine Marshall
The narration was excellent

Overall it was an interesting book but about making a huge a mistake and living with the difficulties of forgiving yourself.
As usual Anne Tyler has the knack of analyzing human nature and the choices we make in a gentle fashion.
The end was satisfying

This book was the first DE Stevenson book I read over 50 years ago.
I have read it several times over those years and it is just as delightful as the first time.
Even more so because of the great narrator! Listening to it is like watching a favorite old movie
The descriptions and character development makes it seem like we are right there in the movie.
I would highly recommend any DE Stevenson but to me this one is special!

I Loved the detail and loved Minkas resilience and faith. She had a long and at times very difficult life
But in the end God healed her broken heart.
Betty Jane’s family was so amazing. The book was very well researched and touching .
