Historia
Every winter, John Borne looked forward to the days when he and his grandfather headed into the snowy Minnesota woods to hunt together. John admired the reverent, familiar way the old man had with the woods. But this year his grandfather is dying and 13-year-old John must make the hunt alone. Without his beloved grandfather, the hunt is cold and lonely—until John spots the doe watching and waiting for him in the clearing. She is an easy target, but as John raises his rifle to shoot, he knows he cannot kill the vulnerable creature.

It wasn't my favorite read, for sure. I kept waiting for something, anything to happen. I do love this author, but this story just left me hanging.

Loved the Story!
Revisado: 11-09-24
I love most heart-felt stories about dogs, cats, animals in general. This was a good one especially because it had a happy ending. I would have preferred a real voice for listening, instead of the virtual voice, but all in all, it was a pleasant listen.

Revisado: 03-25-18
I hated when it ended, but what a beautiful ending to a beautifully tragic story! I felt the anquish, the pain, the pounding hearts, the loss as well as the victories, each with such depth and emotion as though it all happened to me. The Alice Network makes you realize there are heroines who walk amount us every day....if we only stopped to listen and to see!

Historia
Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on human relationships and the unbreakable bonds between man and man's best friend. This moving and beautifully crafted story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us, and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.

A poignant reminder that dogs do have a purpose.
Revisado: 02-19-17
Being a lover of many dogs, this beautiful story of a faithful, loving companion reminds me that all dogs need love and needs to give love to feel a purpose in life. It is our (humans) responsibility as caregivers to be sure that every living dog and cat live a life of comfort, love and purpose.

Another favorite from my favorite author!
Revisado: 12-04-16
So undeniably real, Handle With Care touches the very core of our own morals and beliefs. Picolt drags us to that dark place where we refuse to go willingly and makes us look at our own morals head-on. We begin to question the very basis of right and wrong, as we've been raised to believe. Picolt manuevers expertly that dark path to morality. What would YOU do, is the question that demands an answer.
