I love that this is available on a podcast, but the volume is too low and it’s hard to hear.

Historia
The Russian by Saul Herzog is the stunning second instalment in the series that has taken the publishing industry, and Hollywood rights departments, by storm. This dazzling tour de force is a full standalone novel. From the mind of one of the most creative and versatile writers working in America today, this book will surely go down as a classic of the spy thriller genre.

Story is good but narrator and editing is bad
Revisado: 04-25-23
Terrrible narration and editing! It really makes me not want to finish the story! I like the storyline but hate the incomplete and repeated sentences. Very distracting. There is even a repeated chapter.

Historia
Cast out of the royal court by Eleanor of Aquitaine, deemed too coarse and rough-hewn for marriage or courtly life, seventeen-year-old Marie de France is sent to England to be the new prioress of an impoverished abbey, its nuns on the brink of starvation and beset by disease. At first taken aback by the severity of her new life, Marie finds focus and love in collective life with her singular and mercurial sisters. In this crucible, Marie steadily supplants her desire for family, for her homeland, for the passions of her youth with something new to her.

Inappropriate and uninteresting
Revisado: 03-20-22
I didn't enjoy this book at all. I found that the lesbian scenes were too much! If I had known I would not have bought the book. Also, God is NOT a woman! Mary is not God. No mention of Christ in this at all. And the lack of a proper storyline just threw me off. Disappointing.

Interesting
Revisado: 02-04-22
I enjoyed this book but wish the author wouldn't have taken the Lord's name in vain! Also, it's obviously not a Christian fiction novel. It paints Christians in an odd light, doesn't describe them accurately at all. Jesus is coming back very soon! People need to get ready, get saved. Check out jdfarag dot org to get info on how to be saved! May God bless you abundantly.

At nine, Maud, an English princess, was sent to Germany to become the bride of the Holy Roman Emperor - a political alliance with a man her father’s age. At 25, the widowed Maud must marry once again, this time to 14-year-old Geoffrey Plantagenet. But it is with Stephen of Blois, Maud’s fiercest rival for the British throne, that the headstrong princess discovers the true meaning of desire.

Well written
Revisado: 12-23-21
I wish the author would not have included all the sex scenes. I didn't enjoy them. Had to skip past them. It took away from the story. Also, I thought the idea that Maud had a love affair with Stephen of Blois to be farfetched, and that Henry II was their child. Henry had the famous Plantagenet temper. But I realize this is fiction so it was entertaining.

Would have been better if the author didn't take my Lord's name in vain all the time! The swearing and sex scenes really took away from the story.

Loved the story. fast-paced. Likeable characters, except the nazis. Suspenseful. The only thing that bothered me was the narrator referring to Franka as a "he" here and there.
