Revisado: 07-13-23

An average story
Revisado: 05-31-23
It’s a very easy to follow book. The story gets more interesting close to the end but there are not many twist on it like in other good thrillers.

Good but not as good as I expected
Revisado: 12-31-21
It didn't feel as the end of the series but I guess it is, I don't see what else can be milked from it.
The book was ok, not amazing as I thought 14 and The Fold were (I am not going to include Dead Moon because I didn't read it after seeing the horrendous reviews) but it was a nice ride. At the end I think much more could've been done with this saga. This 4rth book leave me the feeling of a miss opportunity.
The story is ok. From the start you know how it's going to finish, there are no amazing surprises and sharp 90 degree turns on the plot like there were on the first 2 books, very predictable, but not bad.
It appears to be the end of a very nice saga that had an amazing start and just a meh finish. Can still recommend it if you liked the first 2 books.
Btw, Ray Porter is amazing. If it weren't for him I doubt I had given this book 4 stars. His narration of the audiobook is impeccable, so much fun and energy, I will surely find more of his works.

A fantastic way to end a trilogy
Revisado: 12-18-16
This book knitted really way all the pieces of the story that were still lose. The protagonists where the same gang from the first book and they performed top notch.
The reader of the story was amazing.

A fun action tale
Revisado: 10-18-16
This will be a fun ride to those that like action stories full of guns. Many of the words in Spanish were not well pronounced, I don't know if his was because their were not well written in the book or because the narrator just could jot pronounced them. It was ok though.
The story is not boring but very lineal. What rides the score for the whole book was its ending that was packed of full action and very enjoyable.

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

I was expecting something else
Revisado: 09-14-16
What disappointed you about Monster Hunter Memoirs: Grunge?
The plot is just flat compared to the other excellent novels in the MHI series. The main character is awful. It is a flat superman that doesn't appear to have any weaknesses. It is so different from the amazing characters from the first novels like Owen and the rest of the happy face gang, in a bad way.
Would you be willing to try another book from Larry Correia and John Ringo ? Why or why not?
I don't know. The MH series has been like a fix for me. The other novels have been candy for my brain. I think that the influence of Ringo has definitely taken the series in a horrible direction. I will maybe give it a try to the 2nd book but if it is as flat and uninteresting as this one I will be returning it.
What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?
Oliver is outstanding. I think if it was not for him I have maybe used 1 star for every field in this review.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Monster Hunter Memoirs: Grunge?
I would have cut many stupid scenes where the main character Chad just brags about how awesome he think he is. In contrast Owen, from MHI, was a super interesting and intriguing character, he had weaknesses, he was afraid and sometimes he didn't know what to do in a given situation. He looked more real than Chad, more human.
Any additional comments?
The only thing that I liked about this book was the amazing description of the weapons and their use. I love this from the previous books also.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.
