Disliked the virtual voice narration. Forced myself to listen but was so distracted but mispronounced words and the lack of emotion that I gave up. Will make sure I never try one again. Couldn’t tell if the book was as bad as it sounded.

I’m a fan of Ngaio March. I read the book in hardback liked it enough to try the audio version. What a disappointment. The Narrator couldn’t even pronounce the lead character’s name correctly. It made me cringe to hear it. It’s Alan very simple but enough to ruin my enjoyment of the book. (I won’t even mention the French)

Who wrote this book? This isn’t like any of the books I’ve been enjoying for years. The reader is the most priggish deliverer I’ve heard yet. Bulk of the story is so stilted and unrealistic that I was tempted to delete it. One dimensional characters who spout trite speeches and simplistic “problems” that seem to be “solved” with arrogance rather than any demonstrable critical thinking. Too bad her editor hadn’t read previous books.

This was the most annoying narration I have ever heard. Have always looked forward to the the latest from Amanda Quick. Started the book and realized this would be a struggle. The narrator made such a mockery of the characters I could not follow the story. Her characters are always strong independent women. The narrator made them into screeching half wits. If I can get those voices out of my head I may order the Kindle version
