Historia
We present in this audio an outline that may at least serve to suggest the way to a greater spiritual power for many of us. Or, as the title intimates, each major idea may be a "path" leading to a life of abundant grace promised in the sacred word. Let us remember that a path is merely a way toward something; it can never be the thing itself. A knowledge of the truth is not enough; the truth must be followed if we would realize in actual experience the blessedness that is herein described.

Historia
Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

Lindsay Boxer is pregnant at last! But her work doesn't slow for a second. Lindsay is called next to the most bizarre crime scene she's ever seen: two bodiless heads elaborately displayed in the garden of a world-famous actor....

Any additional comments?
This narrator really wasn't bad. But I've been hearing Carolyn McCormick do all the voices through the whole series. I would say it was equal to tuning into a favorite TV show to find that they'd subbed out all the main characters. I was confused about who was talking when. Carolyn McCormick's voice is Lindsay Boxer to me, as she the books are read from her point of view.

Historia
Secrets, mistaken identities, surprise revelations, amnesia, locked rooms and locked asylums, and an unorthodox villain made this mystery thriller an instant success when it first appeared in 1860, and it has continued to enthrall ever since. From the hero's foreboding before his arrival at Limmeridge House to the nefarious plot concerning the beautiful Laura, the breathtaking tension of Collins's narrative created a new literary genre of suspense fiction, which profoundly shaped the course of English popular writing.

Any additional comments?
I enjoyed this audiobook. Although I got the sense it could have been condensed into a shorter, less wordy version. It was hard for me, a modern woman, to suffer through the way women of that time were being treated (as the property of their father/guardian/husbands). But sticking with it proved rewarding.

Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Catching a lot of the hype from The Hunger Games
Revisado: 06-29-12
Any additional comments?
I wanted to actually be educated before making the statement that this book was an awful lot like The Hunger Games and is probably riding on it's hype. But I couldn't find much online saying whether this author could have been influenced by The Hunger Games or not. I liked both. Both kept me listening. I just think this genre is the hype of the moment, though. Overall, a good, compelling read.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

I actually liked the narrator.
Revisado: 04-28-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely! It's the kind of story that draws you in from start to finish.
Have you listened to any of Carolyn McCormick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I recognized right away that Carolyn McCormick is also the reader for James Patterson's series Women's Murder Club. I very much like her as Lindsay Boxer (the main character from whose point of view that series is being told) but I think she may not have been best suited to be Katniss Everdeen. I kept hearing the characters and same voices from the other series in her voices for this one. I also think it could have been a hair better with a younger reader. But I like the way Carolyn McCormick reads and didn't find it overly distracting. I was still quickly and completely drawn in.
Any additional comments?
I finished it in two days. I couldn't stop. I didn't even want to sleep.

Incredible!
Revisado: 02-25-10
This book has been an incredible tool in building my faith and relationship with God. It has some commentary by the author and quotes by other authors but mainly scriptures in the form of prayers. In my experience, this book had far more than what could be caught just by listening in the car or while doing something else. It is probably best to follow along in an actual book or listen first to get the general idea and then study with an actual book.
It's amazing the things the Holy Spirit can teach you and bless you with when you are praying scripture!

Really liked the narration on this one :-)
Revisado: 01-25-09
The writing was up to par. But I think it's the narrator that really pulls me into audiobooks. I thought this one did a really good job with the voices. I could tell who was speaking by the way she did the voice without even having to listen to the narration to know. Was it just me or was she even doing an Alaskan accent for the characters from Alaska? :-)
I didn't realize the sexual scenes would be so graphic but I liked this one.
