Historia
When Grace Emerson's ex-fiancé starts dating her younger sister, extreme measures are called for. To keep everyone from obsessing about her love life, Grace announces that she's seeing someone. Someone wonderful. Someone handsome. Someone completely made up. Who is this Mr. Right? Someone - exactly unlike her renegade neighbor, Callahan O'Shea. Well, someone with his looks, maybe. His hot body. His knife-sharp sense of humor. His smarts and big heart.

Historia
Laura Dern and Diane Ladd always had a close relationship, but the stakes were raised when Diane developed a sudden life-threatening illness. Diane’s doctor prescribed long walks to build back her lung capacity. The exertion was challenging, and Laura soon learned the best way to distract her mom was to get her talking and telling stories. Their conversations along the way began to break down the traditional barriers between mothers and daughters.

My mother is gone and I so wish I had the chance to have these walks with her. At least it’s not too late to walk and talk with those I love. This book is a beautiful blessing!

Guiding Emily was great! A must read for dog lovers and those who have people in their lives or are facing challenges adapting to a new normal. Garth’s dog thoughts as a guide were quite endearing.

Historia
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

Great Lines and Visualizations
Revisado: 06-05-22
I really enjoyed this romance. The idea of a former Miss America contestant with scars from an over zealous mother changing her life and buying a bar in the middle of nowhere and the self discovery and healing that occurred was great! I found myself chuckling at some of the lines and visualizations that were offered and the description of a little boy in the story was spot on with my strong willed grandson! A very good listen! The reader was excellent!

Tough but Beautifully Written Story
Revisado: 07-06-21
Listening was painful for much of the book. These characters went through hell. I didn't know how much more I could take but I was so invested in these characters, I had to listen to the end. I am so glad that I did! I needed a good ending and ultimately, I got just that. The performance of the narrator was absolutely amazing. Best I have ever heard. Her reading truly brought life to these characters. There was a chuckle from time to time, which came just in time.

There are few things Jeremy Marsh was sure he'd never do: He'd never leave New York City; never give his heart away again after barely surviving one failed marriage; and most of all, never become a parent. Now, Jeremy is living in the tiny town of Boone Creek, North Carolina, married to Lexie Darnell, the love of his life, and anticipating the birth of their daughter. But just as his life seems to be settling into a blissful pattern, an unsettling and mysterious message re-opens old wounds.

Female Southern Accent Disappointing
Revisado: 06-07-20
I had a hard time getting through this story due to the female dialogue of the characters as read by the performer. I kept thinking of the voice of Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. As a North Carolina native, this is not our intonation.
The book itself had it's moments but certainly not Mr. Sparks' best work.
