Scott Brick nailed it, once again, on the narration. Hang on for the ride! Dirk and Sally are my faves!

Nobel Prize-winning scientist Sarah Collier has taken a step back from work to spend more time with her family. Movie nights with her husband Daniel and their daughter Maddie are a welcome respite from the scrutiny of the world’s press. As much as it hurts, it’s good to be able to see her father more too. He’s suffering from Alzheimer’s and needs special care. Sarah has started to show tell-tale signs of the disease too. She’s been experiencing blackouts and memory loss. It’s early days but she must face the possibility that she won’t be there to see her daughter grow up.

In general, a good tale.
Revisado: 12-25-22
I, often, refrain from writing reviews - simply, because I feel as though it's judgmental as a whole - but (yep, me, Judgie McJudgerson lol) this one was great. Had I not thought so, I honestly, wouldn't have written a review, at all.
Armitage, I believe, is more well-known as a narrator. This debut novel also gives him solid foothold in writing, as well.
Great storyline (if you don't critique it) and awesome finish. Made my jaw drop towards the end.
Recommended.

Good and Wholesome
Revisado: 10-16-21
This is the first novel - written by Jacqueline Druga - that I've listened to that was not apocalyptic. I must state that this work was definitely up to the standard of her preferred writing style.
Very touching, moving, and thought-provoking. A Christmas Carol, of sorts, and the right choice in the end, Danny.

Historia
At first the rules were simple: quarantine the city and let the plague die. So men and women closed their doors and lived in lockdown, fighting for survival against a disease as contagious and destructive as the Black Death. A disease for which there was no known cure. But the plague did not die. And so, at lunchtime on a Friday afternoon, the president announces the new rules. Every American should take up arms to protect the disease-free zones. Anyone attempting to leave the plague-zone must be shot.

A Dry Listen
Revisado: 06-08-21
Storyline dragged on, incessantly, and more than its fair share of racial terms and slurs that made my eyebrows raise a couple of times.
I stayed the course and finished it but apparently was already on autopilot by the end and Dr Pettrie's closing statement lost me.
Don't allow my review to sway, try it if you'd like.

Definitely worth the listen. The psychologist in this novel turns out to be quite the villain.
