The backstory of Elli is horrific. What’s more horrific is that the author is seeming to write that a literal child enjoyed the abuse she sustained. All in all it made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe it’s just not my kind of title but the sex scenes were so redundant that they lost their luster. There’s so much sex that the plot is completely lost. I’m about halfway through and bored as hell! The males voice isn’t a voice I’d have expected in a book like this. I had to convince myself it worked with the character but that was a reach. It hasn’t been enjoyable. Will update if I decide to finish reading this shock value, lazy excuse of a dark romance.

Fresh, doom and gloom with sexy and very complex characters. Steamy goulish stalker plots keep you on the very edge of your seat. You might as well be standing up and pacing around the house waiting for the next words to fill your ears with thrill and mystery. 10/10 I can’t wait to read I Will Mend You! The cliff hanger was so frustrating! Gigi did warn me though. The trigger warnings had me raising an eyebrow to how exactly osteophila would be used in the book. It did not disappoint. It made me uncomfortable as it should! But a thrill nonetheless! The darkness of this romance was exactly what I needed! Far from the teen novels I’ve been enveloped in for years. I Will Break You was my first introduction to the Dark Romance world. It did not disappoint and had me reeling for more! As a fan of horror film this was a tantalizingly, delicious read that mirrors the same feeling I get from a damn good horror flick! Please read this and enjoy! I don’t doubt you will savor every letter whispered by everyone of the characters!

Experience is lost on the AI narration

The story between calliope and Xavier falls a little short. I feel like she should have been a little more timid considering her backstory. And Xavier could have been quite a bit more aggressive given his place in the Spectors. The spicy parts oh buddy! Very detailed and isn’t that what we all want in the dark romance novels! Overall though. The AI narration almost ruins the experience. The pauses occasionally in the cadence of the AI narration can be distracting. Kinda like when the deed is being done and the rhythm isn’t consistent. This novel would be perfect for a duet audio! It is a good read but could have been so much better! I appreciate the hard work put into the book and enjoyed listening despite the AI narration. ,
