Had the opportunity with these characters and the location To make a good story out of this but it was nothing more than our heroin always having doubts? Always trying to get rid of the loving boyfriend.
Constant fear of her job over and over. The male character seemed very effeminate.
And the whole Iran , human sacrifice thing was just too much. It just doodled along with no real focus .

“This series is my new addiction!”~ Reviewer Nothing's ever as it seems in Ohia, Maui, especially for me, Kat Smith. I'm Secret Service, not Postal Service, stuck in the back end of paradise and making the best of it when the grasping plans of a developer threaten to take out our small town. Even the evil post office cat, Tiki, is outraged by the hostile takeover of our “small island.” Meanwhile, someone's out there whacking the bad guys. Literally. I have to find a way to help, or I might lose the place and people I'm coming to love. "If you like the MIss Fortune series, you'll ...

First draft
Revisado: 08-04-24
This Series of books read like they were written by an 11-year-old and it was her first draft. The stupidity of the characters. No matter the situation is really bad. She's supposed to be a secret service agent laying low, but she tells everybody she's a secret service agent. The only secret service agent, she could be was one in Trump's detail. She does the stupidest things the whole thing about her having a touch phobia is even moreover the top. How could you be a secret Service agent if you couldn't touch anyone. She's supposedly been made Postmaster of this little town.Which she always seems to be able to close or call in sick from .She lives in a shack doesn't have a car.So tell me, did she not make any money when she was a secret service agent, does she not get paid for working in the post office? Her boyfriend Mr. K Is completely enthralled with her. Don't ask me why. If she mentions her Nike shoes once she mentions twenty times, Not flip flops mind you. Have read another couple of her books from a different series that are not nearly this bad so it makes you suspect AI writing.. Or these were books she wrote as a kid and decided to publish them with just a little updating. And everybody in this little Hawaiian town has completely accepted her. 🙄 The plots are simplistic, dialogue Is poor formula. Artificial intelligent reading fits this book.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Revisado: 06-25-24
Everything about this book progress at an unreal pace . Everybody has a plan slapped together in no time, the Army the, main players all collaborateing even though they really worn't working for the best interest. We're keeping this helicopter right here, scene redone several times in the story was two times too many. To many characters, mainly just so they could be killed off. I hate picking on the narrator because it's such a hard job. However, every character was so excited ? the ice tube subplot was a step to far. The cliche's ran rampant. That's why kind of wonder if wasn't AI written.

Wow, the color description in this book just didn't stop. It was like the narrator hated the story so bad , she tried to read it through it at 90 miles an hour. Couldn't keep straight who was who because it was narrated so fast . In between all , these little what the writer thought was clever remarks was the common
cozy mystery food stuff Although the protagonist I have to say that. Because I don't even know what her name was she was so busy patting herself on the back. When she wasn't talking about how she was in an abusive relationship. The whole thing just made me nervous listening to it, it was so hyper.

It’s official. Fortune Redding is out of the CIA and a newly minted resident of Sinful, Louisiana. She never expected her homecoming to be all apple pie and hugs, but a murder wasn’t on her list of things to deal with before she’d even gotten her name stenciled on her mailbox. Boone Carre-Hooch, to the locals - was a drunk and a louse and had shafted pretty much everyone he’d ever done business with. So when someone kills him, there is no shortage of suspects. Unfortunately, Ally is at the top of the list.

Mean-spirited
Revisado: 10-24-23
I like these little books but I found this one mean spirited and snarky on Fortune's part, all of the women actually, the way they treated Carter and he just takes it, over and over plus she seems to be getting really full of herself. The writer really needs to calm it down how much she thinks of herself.
She's gone from a likable person To a big headed, know it all.

Revisado: 02-04-23
First of all I really love the Murder on Maui books Robert W Stevens writes smart and funny. That being said I don't get these books I try, it doesn't seem Alex ever gets that strange juju is going on and the story seems to be very disjointed .I didn't think I would read the 2nd book after reading the 1st one which I really didn't get. I still don't get . Don't want to give anything away in these books But don't get to attached to any of the supporting players. James Fouhey is excellent in his Narration. as always.

why does the killer always gloat
Revisado: 09-10-22
So I gave the first book that I had read in this series which was I believe book three a five, I thought it was a smart , entertaining mystery. this one not so much, first off all the killing of all the people just to get to one person. Also why would you take a chance that the Killer would do their typical tv, novel, movie explanation at the end to give you time to get the drop on them. Gun in salt water and sand, definitely wouldn't trust my life to it no matter the make. Never really have anything bad to say about the narration but a certain person was in the hospital had part of their lower intestine removed says how much pain they're in but it is not reflected in the the narrator's voice in any way no hesitation, no dry throat, I have a problem with that knowing is how when people come out of a long surgery they're pretty doped up, and a lot of pain and Confused yet this person could carry on a normal conversation. one other thing that's becoming monotonous I read several of these books now his explanation of his name, how it came to Maui, how he met his wife , yada yada doesn't all have to come at the beginning of the book why can't it be spread out a little bit through the novel it's becoming very monotonous that the first chapter is basically taken up with it. last thing I promise For Heaven's Sake stop blowing so much money on your wife constantly, I know the way she doesn't give anything of consequence in return is sort of like a husband who never buys a good gift but really.

First smart mystery in a long time
Revisado: 08-17-22
Perhaps it's because I've gotten into listening to Cozy Mysteries, because I get tired of all the the no Talent writers that can't come up with a good plot or dialogue so they have to put explicit sex every six pages to hide the fact that they have no Talent. I've been reading and listening to Hawaiian based Mysteries the last year most have been mine numbingly stupid for the protagonist is constantly doing something that nobody in their right mind would do and being very annoying at it or I don't have a story so we go back to the sex situation. I found this book absolutely entertaining the protagonist if he did something stupid like they all do, he basically let us know he was doing something stupid or we thought he was doing something stupid but he wasn't ,I know what I said was kind of confusing, whatever I thought the characters were Sharp the lead was sharp most of the bad guys that mattered were Sharp even if you did guess who the bad guy was. Poe had money didn't mind if you knew he had it, didn't throw around amounts, wasn't a total jerk not even sure I would call him any kind of a jerk, just likeable. Maui the dog was fun because that was just his name it didn't seem unnatural, I don't know how many series I've read were people have named their dog or cat something like Butch Ellis Ferguson or some nonsense and called him that constantly nothing for short like Butch or Ellis or Fergie that drives me crazy. also the women in this book are not the annoying snoops that 99% of clean Mysteries are they're not running around putting themselves in danger in this book for one thing the protagonist is a male he does a couple stupid things but then what fun would book be if they didn't do a couple stupid things, anyway writer a sense of humor and not afraid to show it . I started with this book I'm going to go back two read book one , It had a good mystery the ending was very good. So looking for a good not x-rated mystery series ,set in Hawaii this is a winner, winner. First five stars I've given in I don't know how long

Fifty Shades of Gray and a mystery
Revisado: 08-12-22
I really think my header says it all. this is a book that has a lot of sexual situations in it, with a mystery thrown in as a filler between sexual acts. I don't want to give much away but getting hit by a car really doesn't want to make you hop into bed for the 12th time, or getting all your hair burned off making you want to either, there's other situations in this novel that are really bizarre timing , Having it guest staying like in the next room and you can't keep you panties on, it's bad enough the soft p*** with the villain.
it's too bad she didn't have enough self-confidence to write a straight mystery. Read the book before this, seems like she's moving more X x.

Revisado: 06-30-22
You have a wedding planner who doesn't have anything in her shop. she drives a clunker car that she drives her customers around in or lets them Drive. A millionaire bridezilla picking her. She has one roommate, she then takes in a fireman, X cop I'm still not sure what the heck he was all about on the couch, then she has a hippie friend who owns the grocery store that's junk, who has a dog that she thinks is a boy having puppies and then they're all living in her house. She puts up with all this greff from the bridezilla whos fiance is AWOL and is supposed dead. The story then goes on and on and on and gets weaker and weaker as it gets pulled down in this whorlpool of more confusion with more characters trying to buy her house her business, driving back and forth ugu. Did like some of the Hawaiian atmosphere and language, although every word she said in Hawaiian she basically clarified what it was in English which was unnecessary, like mahalo is thank you or aloha the Hawaiian greeting . skip this one, it's painful.
