Too much drama, not enough story

Honestly, if you removed all the teenage emotions and drama, there would be maybe an hour of an actual story. The narration was okay, but not great. I kept hoping things would get better or there would be more story or character development, but there isn’t.

The story is SLOOOW. So slow. But good.

It felt like it took forever to get anywhere in the story line. But if you power through that, the story is good. The plot is good. The characters are good. And it’s not ‘if you get through this slow part, the rest will be good.’ The whole book is slow. A powerful slow burn story. A couple sex scenes. I don’t really know what else to say. It was definitely captivating, but I’m not sure I would recommend it. Both narrators were excellent.

It could have been really good

The FMC is weak. Grow a backbone for goodness sake. The fact that she doesn’t drove me insane. The plot for this story is really good, but it drags way too much at times. And again, the MFC is a disappointment. I won’t be continuing the series.

This book was really slow and the FMC would often annoy me. I understand that she had trauma and trust issues, but it got annoying. Too much internal monologue. And again, the story moved along really really slow.

It’s a good story, but is sooo slow! And often boring. The mystery is good, but exciting moments are rare. The character build is fine, but too much of the book is character ‘musings’ in my opinion.

This story would be good, it really would. But the FMC is so annoying. Her character is supposed to be a bad ass but she is constantly getting captured. Throwing temper tantrums. Acting like she is betrayed, when she is not. It was hard to finish. The narrator was good.
