Historia
For all its old-fashioned charm, Forbes Abbot is far from the close-knit community that ex-Londoners Mallory and Kate Lawson expected. In this village, everyday squabbles can quickly turn to murder. As the couple begins to settle into their new life away from the big city, it isn't long until they're thrown into the horror and mayhem of a true Midsomer Murders mystery. Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby has encountered many intriguing cases in his years on the force, but soon he will discover that the incident of the ghost in the machine is the most challenging of them all.

Love this story the best in series
Revisado: 07-08-24
I have to admit that at first when I heard the narrator & it was not the same person, I had to turn it off for a bit. I just really loved the previous narrator, and got used to her voice for the characters.
But, after a chapter or two, I forgot all about the change. This narrator was also excellent!
I did like this story the best in the series, it felt the most cozy to me.

Ok,
Revisado: 04-28-24
I love Tess Gerritsen. This is her usual narrator and she’s pretty good (a little monotone). But she can’t do an English accent. It would be better if they had narrate it without an accent at all. The story was ok, but not as good as her usual books.

Not interesting
Revisado: 04-03-24
I found it boring. There wasn’t really any suspense & it was also missing detail to explain why people let the situation get the way it was.
I’ve enjoyed some of her other books, but just didn’t like this one.

Santino Fontana is PERFECT. Almost as good as YOU
Revisado: 07-07-21
Santino Fontana is PERFECT! He doesn't just breath life into Joe, he creates Joe. Any other narrator could have easily ruined the audiobook. I wish they had cast him as Joe in the Netflix series.
I enjoyed this book a lot more than Hidden Bodies. I feel like it was almost as good as You. Hope she keeps writing more You books (as long as Santino Fontana narrates)!

Historia
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

love Steven Weber, unpredictable as usual
Revisado: 04-27-20
I love listening to Steven Weber! I've had a crush on him since I was young and watched him on Wings. I really liked that the plot was unpredictable and kept me guessing. I love Harlan Coben's stand alone books but this one felt a bit more one of his Myron Bolitar books (which I like a bit less). Still, a very enjoyable listen to make driving go quickly! Looking forward to his next stand-alone.

Narrator was amazing, one of the best books ever
Revisado: 02-06-20
Heather O'Neill was amazing! Her voice was so enjoyable to listen to, I wish she narrated all of the Dublin Murder Squad books. She was able to give all of the characters distinct voices without getting over-the-top when she did male voices. That is very rare. I do hope she narrates more mysteries/thrillers. Just a joy to listen to!
The plot was so unique and kept me engaged, even though Tana French's poetic style isn't my usual go-to. I listen to a lot of mysteries and thrillers. This one was so different and kept my attention. One of the best books I've ever listened to. I also really liked the main character (as opposed to Rob in 'The Woods') and enjoyed learning more about her throughout the book.
Highly recommend!
