Smacks of an AI-gen'd outline/pitch that accidentally went straight to release -- and insufferably bland to boot.

Any additional comments?
I did not. Even though several other readers' thoughtful reservations gave me my own, I bought it anyway. The title was too intriguing.
This book simply does not dive to the depths I expect of this publisher. If you have a moderate understanding of the sciences, you will learn little, certainly not enough to justify wading through the fluff.
"Get on with it," I found myself saying a dozen times. Then, frustratingly, when the author DID close in on an interesting phenomenon, we'd skirt by it on another diversion or remotely pertinent allegory, like some notional tourist.
The book reads like an padded essay, where topics are presented merely to cover bases, whether or not there is anything to add. Yes, the world is full of wonders — that's why we read about it — but such a text commends expert interpretation, not enumerated musings (we already share) at a distance.
