Historia
Eve has a good life. She wakes up each day, kisses her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except… Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye. Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says. But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet…

This book should have a trigger warning
Revisado: 07-25-24
I typically enjoy Frieda’s books because they are so entertaining. This one has been my least favorite. I didn’t know the plot was going to contain characters so predatory on this level. I don’t want to give spoilers so I’ll leave it at that. Definitely needs a trigger warning for this specific predatory behavior.

Psycho + Bates Motel
Revisado: 07-17-24
So at first I was like c’mon, did Frieda really just copy Psycho and Bates Motel? But boy did it take a turn. This was entertaining, I enjoyed the book and narration.

Historia
Colleen O’Rourke is in love with love … just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis and staying more or less happily single. See, ten years ago, Lucas Campbell broke her heart … an experience Colleen doesn’t want to have again, thanks. Since then, she’s been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting and playing matchmaker to her friends.

One thing that bugged me…
Revisado: 04-16-24
I love Kristin Higgins novels because they are a small town, girl falls in love type of humble story. However, the Blue Heroin series was my least favorite. I found these stories missing something. They were a bit dull and predictable.
Also, it’s a bit triggering that her stories puts emphasis on women over 30 passing their prime.
For this book- I found it a little offensive that she kept referring to Lucas looking like a pirate since he’s Puerto Rican. She also kept referring to him as “the Spaniard”. I don’t know many Puerto Ricans that like to be referred to by their colonizer. I guess since it’s a small town they are more ignorant about other nationalities?

Revisado: 11-30-23
What! This ending was not what I was expecting. What a selfish person. This story kept me engaged and is the second book I’ve listened to from this author. I will definitely be listening to more! Great suspense story.

Just okay
Revisado: 06-07-23
This has been my least favorite book from Kristin Hannah. It starts off very slow and finally catches the readers attention towards the end. If I had the physical copy of this book I wouldn’t had been able to finish. It’s a heart felt story, it just didn’t capture my attention.

Heart wrenching
Revisado: 09-15-21
I absolutely loved this novel. It brought out a tenderness in me, I was able to feel the character’s emotions and experiences. I felt so much pride with the development of the characters and how they found their bravery. Highly recommend. Get your tissue box because you are about to go on an emotional roller coaster.

10/10
Revisado: 01-21-21
Wow, just wow. This book was so moving. It was beautifully written and beautifully performed. I felt so much emotion throughout the entirety of the book. It was like I could feel everything the main character, Adunni was feeling. All her loss, grief, but also all her joy and happiness. Wonderful book, 10/10.
