Historia
In Saving Normal, Allen Frances, one of the world's most influential psychiatrists, warns that mislabeling everyday problems as mental illness has shocking implications for individuals and society: Stigmatizing a healthy person as mentally ill leads to unnecessary, harmful medications, the narrowing of horizons, misallocation of medical resources, and draining of the budgets of families and the nation.

This is an increasingly important book

I think every clinician should read this. But the narration is tough because the reader is too pretentious.

Florence had an attitude
Revisado: 07-26-24
She also had a brilliant prescience about her. The reader did an excellent job and was pleasant to listen to.

The courage of actively listening
Revisado: 05-02-23
There are a few pearls in this book by the famous Carl Rogers. I particularly resonated with his comments on how much courage it takes to risk changing your own mind by actively listening to others and suspending judgment.

He should have listened to his editors at audible
Revisado: 03-19-23
Fogg goes on a 20-minute tirade at the beginning of the book about how much he wanted to read his own book and then convinces his editors after voice lessons to do it and then throughout the entire book — which is otherwise fabulous! — he does this little scoff of a belly laugh that grates on me to the point where it was hard to even finish. I hated it. That one thing that he did ALL throughout the book, which had nothing to do with his voice, ruined it for me. Not everything is worth a little belly chuckle doc.

End of Gender

The content is amazing, particularly in the first half of the book. Deborah does a nice job overall, though in some moments her writing style seems a bit too cliche.

In The Madness of Crowds Douglas Murray investigates the dangers of ‘woke’ culture and the rise of identity politics. In lively, razor-sharp prose he examines the most controversial issues of our moment: sexuality, gender, technology and race, with interludes on the Marxist foundations of ‘wokeness’, the impact of tech and how, in an increasingly online culture, we must relearn the ability to forgive.

Douglas’s Madness of Crowds
Revisado: 01-01-23
One of the most impactful takes on woke ideology, Douglas’s sharp wit and exacting argumentation made for an easy listen. This is a great, if not all too disconcerting, book. I highly recommend it.
