Revisado: 04-23-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would! I've listened to each of the previous Audible editions, and each are great stand alone books. The narration is top flight. The plot well paced. Short on violence and sex. And the story doesn't "need" them to stay interesting.

The development, the characters and the fantastic narration by Janelle Tedesco!
What does Janelle Tedesco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Wide range of believable voices for each of the characters. She presents the story like an actor on a stage with her physical presence!

I took my time to savor it.

Historia
The Colonial Parkway Murders - the name given eight murders that took place in the Tidewater region in the late 1980s, two of which were on the historic Colonial Parkway, the nation’s narrowest National Park. Young people in the prime of their lives were the targets. But the pattern that stitched this special kind of evil together was more like a spider web of theory, intrigue, and mathematics. Then, mysteriously, the killing spree stopped. Now, father-daughter true crime authors Blaine Pardoe and Victoria Hester blow the dust off of these cases.

A True Crime Book of the Finest Kind
Revisado: 04-03-18
Would you consider the audio edition of A Special Kind of Evil to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the written or e-book. The audio version is excellent but maybe adding a pdf to go along would be helpful in following the suspects and enhancing the timeline.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
The fact that the crimes are still unsolved.
What does Lee Ann Howlett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Excellent narration! Clear voice, good pacing,.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
All of the victims seemed both random but shared becoming victims of murder.

Enjoyable Listen U.S. Civil War Trivia
Revisado: 03-24-18
Would you listen to The American Civil War Trivia Book: Interesting American Civil War Stories You Didn't Know again? Why?
Yes. I enjoyed the listen. This is sort of like a cross of a high school lecture and Teen Jeopardy. Basic but still a fun listen even for very expert level CW aficionados.
What other book might you compare The American Civil War Trivia Book: Interesting American Civil War Stories You Didn't Know to and why?
I made the comparison to lectures and Teen Jeopardy. It was interesting and had some facts that I had forgotten from my studies (for entertainment).
Which character – as performed by Derek Newman – was your favorite?
This is abook of narration not dramatised acting. Derek has a great voice though. Good pace, easily understood. No "quirks".
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Entertained.

Historia
Almost everyone with a pulse fears death, but not everyone fears life. With crippling social anxiety, I feared both. But after an accidental call to a funeral home during my mid-life crisis trip to grad school, I reluctantly embarked on a journey to explore professions that dealt with death in order to come to terms with my own mortality. The result of this quirky trip is Death Becomes Us, a humorous memoir about what happens when a middle-aged, anxiety-filled, life-avoider attempts to investigate the last taboo of American culture. And lives to tell the tale.

A Treatise on Life's Final Outcome
Revisado: 03-22-18
Where does Death Becomes Us rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I listen to many genres of Audible books. So ranking it against others isn't a fair evaluation. It was interesting to me for several reasons. After a catastrophic health issue I am in a long term care facility.
The industries that Death has generated are many and varied. A few are covered in this interesting audiobook.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author Pamela Skolsvik. She weaves her own story through the ones about the main subject of the book.
What about Lisaun Whittingham’s performance did you like?
She did an outstanding job! I picture the author herself by Lisaun's voice! She is a good choice for this work. A pleasant voice, easily understood and she lends humor, sadness and the spectrum of the story's points very well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both! Sad at the parents who lost infants or adult children. Smiles or sadness at the author's own story.
Any additional comments?
In my opinion, this Audible work is worth the credit and my listening time. It is certainly worth many relistenings!

Historia
From 1991 through 2005, the Atlanta Braves did something no pro sports team can match, finishing in first place for 14 consecutive seasons. During that stretch, the Braves parlayed powerful pitching with potent hitting that produced under pressure. Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox won with veteran teams, young teams, slugging teams, and several times with teams that emphasized speed and defense. His teams captured 100 wins in six different seasons.

Rules change, The Boys Still Play for the Game
Revisado: 08-02-17
What made the experience of listening to When the Braves Ruled the Diamond the most enjoyable?
I see this as a "commemorative" item. Picture it as the written project but with reproduction score cards or some baseball cards, maybe some some play by play from Ron Wolfley sound bites on the Audible version.
This was good but can you see it "enhanced" ?
Who was your favorite character and why?
As produced it well acted. I thought Kyle Tait did a swell job. I believe he has experience as a sports announcer!
Which character – as performed by Kyle Tait – was your favorite?
I didn't get a sense of "favorite character" It did provide a fantastic sense of team excellence, where the dynasty fit with other teams' as well as individual perfotmances, batting, pitching, defense, etc!
Any additional comments?
In my opinion, this Audible work is worth the credit and my listening time. It is certainly worth many relistening!

For most people, a 50th class reunion is a time to party and renew old acquaintances, but Walt Williams isn't an ordinary guy - he's a cop, and trouble seems to follow him everywhere he goes. Old flames, bullies, and a scorned classmate make Walt's reunion one to remember. The Mexican drug cartel is recruiting young Latino girls as drug mules and the Kansas City Police have hit a brick wall until Walt is given a lead by an old classmate.

Not the Best... Stilll Worth a Listen
Revisado: 07-21-17
What made the experience of listening to Lady Justice and the Class Reunion the most enjoyable?
I always answer this regarding the Lady Justice series by saying the combination of characters and the narration of George Kuch. It needs to be said that this title wasn't up to what I have come to expect..
As the review title suggests, I can't put my finger on it, the usual fit between story and the narration just was off.
The reasons behind being at the reunion seemed contrived. And George seemed a bit off. It didn't seem like he was enjoying this one as much as usual.
Would you recommend Lady Justice and the Class Reunion to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, and I highly recommend the ENTIRE series. The characters are older and wiser, and become as close as old friends!
Which scene was your favorite?
The actual participation of Walt and his cohorts in the reunion. Walt impersonates the King again. Yet no singing by George this time! Just written acts. I Missed that.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Missing Drug Mules and other shenanigans lead to undercover work at the class reunion.
Any additional comments?
It's still very much worth the listen and the credit.
I own most of the Kindle Lady Justice series and have all of the series thus far produced via Audible editions and can't recommend the series enough!

Detailed Presentation Crimes, Investigation &Trials
Revisado: 07-12-17
Would you listen to Blood Lust again? Why?
I would. I am a seasoned True Crime book reader and I might caution that the crimes are reprehensible, and that there are no redeeming factors for murderer Dayton Leroy Rogers. There is some biographical material for Rogers near the beginning of his childhood circumstances, yet they don't mitigate his acts as an adult.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Lust?
Each of the descriptions of the attacks and murders certainly, but what stands out in my mind in hindsight, is his demeanor at the trials.
What does Dan Orders bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I appreciated his spoken pace, it fit the material well, mostly he did a good job with various character voices. Pleasant voice and pronunciations seemed correct.
Any additional comments?
I have listened to a handful of works written by Mr. King. His area of expertise in with the True Crime genre. I have enjoyed all of them including this one!

Animal Personalities, the Majesty of Yellowstone
Revisado: 06-29-17
If you could sum up Dangerous Beauty in three words, what would they be?
Yellowstone Life Cycles
What did you like best about this story?
The stories of life in Yellowstone National Park. The personalities of the bears and other animals, the interaction of Nature, Wildlife, the Park Service and visitors. Makes me want to be there too!
Which scene was your favorite?
The first story of Scarface, then the discovery of familial connections!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me appreciate our National Parks, and how lucky we are to have them. And our obligation to preserve them for generations to come.
