A convincing story, layered characters, good narration

Anyone familiar with this author already knows what to expect — a rich world, varied, deep characters, intricate story line. Ringship Prosper is all of that, in a continuation of a very successful series. I love this series, and this author! The experiment is of course Virtual Voice. I was surprised to find that the voice is not at all distracting. I’m aware that I’m not listening to a human, but I also forget about it and get drawn into the story. I think that’s the measure — do I keep being yanked back into reality? Or can I remain mentally in the story? Virtual Voice has reached the point where I can remain in the story, and forget completely that a robot is reading to me. I’m very glad I gave Virtual Voice a chance!

A well-told story, well-told!

Having read the author's other work, I already knew this would be a great story, with rich, real characters. She's an amazing artist in the medium of language.

What I didn't know was how the computer-generated voice would be. I was very happy to find the voice is very life-like!

For long stretches, I forgot completely that it's not a human voice.

If this is the future of audiobooks, it's a very bright one!

I especially liked the areas where the author said, "bad boundaries sound like..." then said real-world things that a person with bad boundaries, good boundaries, or the need for boundaries might say.

This let me hear myself and others and realize how and when to apply it.

Another gripping installment, perfectly performed!

The Thrive crew visits another colony, with its own customs and biota. Booth again weaves story-telling, world-building, and word-smithing into a work that is entertaining and thrilling!

As with the previous 3 books in this series, the audio version is brought to life by Veronica Giguere. She provides each character with a unique voice, expertly switching between them as needed in conversation.

Booth's Thrive is a wonderful sci-fi series, and Giguere's performance makes it a must for your audio list.

New environments for well-developed characters

This third installment of the Thrive series takes characters we've come to know and exposes them to interesting new environments. Booth paints an intricate picture of both the world and the characters' perceptions of it. In-depth, consistent, beautiful story telling!

If you like your sci-fi gritty and believable, and your characters multi-dimensional, Booth needs to be on your reading list!

Giguere again brings each character to life with their own voice, and cadence. A master, she's an absolute delight to listen to.

The story continues and it doesn't disappoint!

The Thrive crew continues their adventure! Booth paints a gorgeous word picture of the sometimes-difficult lives of the characters in her universe. Imagination and wordsmithing unite to create a story that's thrilling, unpredictable, and a joy to read.

As with Book One, Veronica Giguere's narration delightfully brings the characters to life. Her range allows her to give each character a voice, and she faithfully renders all the dialog in those voices.

Looking forward to book 3!

I've read several of Ginger Booth's books and loved all of them. Her writing is at once sophisticated and down to earth. Her characters feel real, her scenes are believable, her stories are engaging and thrilling.

This audio version takes it to a new level. Veronica Giguere's performance is outstanding! Each character's voice is crafted to convey every nuance.

I look forward to the next audio version of Booth's work, and I hope she continues to work with Giguere. Winning combination!
