Historia
Journalist, lawyer, and financier Claude M. Bristol (1890-1951) made a lifelong study of the practical powers of the psyche. In his 1948 classic The Magic of Believing, Bristol employed his skills as a journalist and straight-talking businessman to reveal this truth to the widest possible range of people. With a broad-ranging historical introduction and supplemental readings by scholar of esotericism Mitch Horowitz, this edition of The Magic of Believing is the definitive publication of Bristol’s mind-power landmark.

Expensive vs. value vs. other versions
Revisado: 02-28-24
First 6 chapters are the narrator's comments, additional info etc etc, which I did not find overly useful or worthwhile for the nearly 3 times the cost for the same book without these introductory chapters. I have returned this book and purchased a lower cost version which I'm happier with.

Irrelevant :) & annoyingly dramatic 🤷🏻♂️
Revisado: 04-25-22
Very junior and basic information, this *might* be good for a recent graduate finding his/her way in a first job.
However, if you’re someone with 20-30 yrs experience successfully building and leading teams and developing leaders you might have to force yourself through the chapters hoping to hear something new and useful, which might be a struggle :)
For me it was overly dramatic (annoying lol) and neurotic (similar to what another reviewer said).
I’m thankful to Audible’s refund policy :)
The teams I’ve been part of and led got far more applicable and timelessly useful information from the Carnegie classic HTWF&IF and from Exactly What To Say.

I can see why some people write bad reviews about this book, in my opinion that just means this book isn’t for you or you’re not ready it.
I love Tim’s raw, real, cut the BS and no excuses attitude.
What I really needed to hear was the section on your dark side and the part about time vs focus.
I really liked hearing the small sections directly narrated by Tim and FTW I’d give 5 stars for Performance had Tim narrated the entire book!

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Revisado: 12-16-19
Hundreds of books later, this one hit home. For me, Goggins’ life story is the ultimate expression of human potential realized, which I’ve been looking for, and which I know is living inside each and every one of us and it’s our own self doubt and excuses holding any human back from their divine potential! God bless you Goggins for your courage to not only live a life of significance but to be brave enough to share the real you with all of us through this book. Thank you

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

730 Alpha Male Quotes: Men & Fitness Quotes for Personal Empowerment, Self Confidence, and Personal Success

Historia
Xabier K. Fernao is a firm believer that quotes are one of the most beautiful and wisest thing to be ever created. Think about it. You can listen to a whole book. In search of knowledge, you'll be more likely bombarded with a barrage of confusion. Everyone is telling you what to think and how to think. The beauty of quotes is that quotes give you the space for exploration. Every single wise quote has no meaning except for the one that you give it. There is no context, except to that of the listener (you).

Duplicate & incorrect quotes. Alpha Male? Not even close
Revisado: 06-27-19
there is nothing Alpha Male about this book. So many incorrect and duplicated quotes with different credit given! What a joke! Total piece or garbage! Let’s google quotes and make a book? The author and publisher should quit their sham! Thank you Audible for your refund policy. First refund I’ve ever done in 14 years and over 100 books with Audible.

A must read!
Revisado: 03-05-08
Career Warfare reaffirmed the things that I have seen and experienced in corporate life over my 15 years leading up to a senior management level. If you’ve been lucky enough to work for some someone like D.F. D’Alessandro you will have many, many ‘ah ha!’ moments while listening to this book. In my personal experience, working as a Director at a top-tier F.I, I can truly say that he is dead-on in regard to how decisions are made at the tops levels. This book can trigger a paradigm change for you. You will likely see yourself in a new light as a ‘product’ that you and you alone must market every day in order to build your own personal brand. At every turn you are faced with opportunities to enhance or destroy your personal brand and it is your personal brand that your bosses think about when you get (or don’t get) that promotion, bonus or raise. I have seen it with my own eyes, it really happens the way D.F. D’Alessandro describes it. From the moment you wake up with how you dress to how you treat the guy at the coffee shop, and with every interaction form the security guard and receptionist, to your staff, to your CEO, your clients, etc. you need to be conscious of how you are marketing and building your personal brand. The narration by G.Gardner was excellent and I gave this book 4 instead of 5 stars only because I was left wanting more from D.F. D’Alessandro.

Vocabulearn? Good luck following random words!
Revisado: 10-11-07
This audio book is really not worth much at all. There is no structure to it whatsoever, random words are blurted out once in English and then once in Hebrew. eg. "the green pees... Tuesday... the airport... the boy... the gasoline..." no joke, it really is all over the place! Luckily my limitted Hebrew vacubulary helped my figure out that at some point the program switched to Hebrew first then Enlgish second (there's no intruduction between chapters, it's all guesswork). It's so rediculous and so useless that I found it almost comical and almost amusing but what I really found was that it is a complete waste of money and time. My only other experience with Vocabulear ("Italian Word Booster") was worth the moneny because it had structure and was easy to follow. I don't think I'll be spending any more credits on Vacubulearn any time soon :(
