I loved everything about this novel and I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I like the development of the characters and the fact that each book could be a stand alone book.

A fantastic 1920’s female lead story
Revisado: 03-21-25
This was a little bit more than the usual cozy mystery. It provides a bit of anxious moments over what will happen next. Very descriptive and I suggest listening to the author’s historical notes at the end of the novel. A great book!

I liked it but..
Revisado: 03-13-25
I think this series will be a favorite. But it was hard to follow. A lot of characters introduced very early on, abrupt changes in and settings.. but I enjoyed the characters and will listen to more to see if I can now follow easier. I may have to go back to this one because I didn’t follow where the murder was first introduced. Good narration!

Liked the book. Not fond of the narrator. The story line was a nice cosy mystery along the lines of the author’s other books. The narrator in my opinion was more sensational news reporting than story telling.

Historia
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Loved!
Revisado: 07-03-24
It’s so nice to read a modern contemporary family saga with people of color living successful lives. A nice beach read that is uplifting while still addressing some of the social issues of life. It can be read as a stand alone book. But the first two should not be missed.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Dry, Slow, Boring
Revisado: 06-26-24
With so many great reviews I wanted to like this novel. I could not. Maybe I couldn't wrap my head around the fantasy of the Octopus. Maybe it was the dry narration. Maybe it is a slow build up and would get better. There's way too many other books to explore so I'll never know.

I am so glad I stuck with this book. It's very drawn out with girly feelings, but also very graphic and suspenseful. I loved the historical content.
