1920. Poppy Denby, an aspiring journalist, arrives in London to look after her ailing aunt. She encourages Poppy to apply for a job at The Daily Globe, but on her first day, a senior reporter is killed and Poppy is tasked with finishing his story. It involves the mysterious death of a suffragette seven years earlier - an event some powerful people would prefer forgotten....

Through her friend Delilah, Poppy is introduced to the giddy world of London in the Roaring Twenties. Will she make it as a journalist in this fast-paced new city? And will she be able to unearth the truth before more people die?

I loved this book. I liked the mystery. I liked the writing. I liked that it was about the women's movement, suffragettes and the jazz era. Altogether a great story.

The Jazz Files is a pretty good book. It starts off slowly but the plot picks up pace after few chapters. I will get the next book.

This was a little bit more than the usual cozy mystery. It provides a bit of anxious moments over what will happen next. Very descriptive and I suggest listening to the author’s historical notes at the end of the novel. A great book!

A fantastic 1920’s female lead story

This was a surprise to me! I thought it would be another half listen cozy mystery, it was a great one. I’ll be reading more of this author.

Great heroine, terrific plot that was suspenseful and kept you guessing. Action packed and full of the music and clothes and fun of the 1920s. If you like Phrynie Fisher, Amelia Peabody, and Daisy Dalrymple or The Royal Spyness series you’ll love this. Can’t wait to read more in the series!

I like this story a lot. the narration is fantastic. the characters storyline narrative settings historical perspective visuals of clothing horse and carriage truly fascinating throughout. the mystery itself is well crafted I enjoyed listening very much look forward to the entire series to see how our heroine proceeds 👍👍👍👍👍

Such a good book. Well written, great setting, exciting times, interesting history. What I love most is that all the main characters have a stake in the truth being revealed. It keeps the reader emotionally invested on every page.

The narrator also does an excellent job. it's easy to follow a conversation, the accents works, and no one sounds ridiculous.

It was well written I enjoyed it I didn't buy the second book yet cause I bought a couple other ones but I will read the whole series Enjoy reading
