Great new story!
Revisado: 03-05-25
All of ‘This Rotten World’ books are wonderful… this new story, while a bit less interesting, is still a great addition to the series.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

Good book… long winded
Revisado: 07-31-23
I’ve read quite a few Stephen King books and I’ve loved them all but this one is very long and drawn out, many times unnecessarily imo. I understand now that this is more so a story of love and friendship than a true horror novel but geez… this could’ve easily been cut by 5-10hrs and still been an amazing book.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Best book I’ve read!!
Revisado: 01-23-23
What a pleasant surprise! I’ve known of The Stand for many years but hadn’t thought to pick it up until recently and I’m so glad I did. It’s long but at the same time, not long enough. I only wish it was a series. I’d love to continue following the journey of Stu Redmond!

Good story, Bad storyteller
Revisado: 04-11-22
I really like the story written by Jonathan Maberry. The narration of William Dufris is lackluster. His voice reminds me of the 1950’s radio stories, I keep waiting for him to shout “stick em up seeee, take that you low down yellow bellied rat…” in my best James Cagney voice. His way of speaking does the eerie storyline no Justice at all.

Historia
Invite Hannibal Lecter into the palace of your mind and be invited into his mind palace in turn. Note the similarities in yours and his, the high vaulted chambers of your dreams, the shadowed halls, the locked storerooms where you dare not go, the scrap of half-forgotten music, the muffled cries from behind a wall. In one of the most eagerly anticipated literary events of the decade, Thomas Harris takes us once again into the mind of a killer, crafting a chilling portrait of insidiously evolving evil - a tour de force of psychological suspense.

Thrilling story
Revisado: 04-07-22
I love the character of Mason Verger but the voice Daniel Gerroll decided to employ is just ridiculous. I love authenticity but if you can’t understand the words being spoken in an AUDIOBOOK, what’s the point?! If it was a smaller character I could overlook it but Mason Verger is a major character and I could barely understand him even after rewinding 3-4 times in some cases. Just disappointing… oh well, great book nonetheless.

Easily the best audiobook I’ve ever experienced. Frank Muller’s narration is a perfect addition to this wonderfully written thriller. I only wish Frank Muller had voiced the whole Hannibal series… oh well!

Together, they show Oscar how he could finally do something amazing with his life. Then there's Kaylee. She may be 10 years old, but there is nothing sweet or innocent about her. Meh 😕
Revisado: 03-08-22
The actual story wasn’t bad but the guy’s voice was a terrible fit for a horror story. Also, this is an extremely predictable possession tale with a “plot twist” that you can see coming from a mile away.

I love it!!
Revisado: 01-07-22
I simply adore the in depth dive into the biblical lore behind the foretold existence of “evil’s son”. I’m not sure about the accuracy of some of the scripture meanings, but it’s sooooo interesting. This written story is frightening and uplifts the movie version to heights I hadn’t envisioned. Holly Palance’s voice is captivating and puts the exclamation point on the fear! I’m sure Jews will find issue with the mention of certain biblical passages but cest’ la vie, great audio book!!

The orator did quite well with what she was working with but the story is just not that good. After reading 7 different Alien storylines, this is easily the worst. Sooooooo slow!
