No character development
Revisado: 04-07-25
Poorly written. Like a cheap action movie lots of death and improbable dialog no character development and everything is shallow and one dimensional. Not even I. The same league as David Webber and whomever compared it to his Honor Harrington novels should be ashamed of themselves. I seriously fell ripped off!

Plot holes
Revisado: 01-15-25
The character development remains superficial. Again huge holes in the story line. For example, we have 4 enemy ships bearing down on the harbor in Jamaica causing a huge conflict over who is in charge. A man is killed and poof the fleet disappears?!?!?! It certainly never attacks or is heard of again… really superficial story telling. If you want a good sea bevel series check out Patrick O’Brien Aubrey Maturin series. This is 4th grade reading

Historia
Captain Jackson Wolfe never thought he'd see the end of the Phage War in his lifetime. The enemy was too powerful, too numerous, and utterly determined to exterminate humanity. But the appearance of a new ally in the fight has changed all of that. For the first time since the original incursion, Wolfe thinks that maybe there's a chance to stop their implacable enemy before they have the chance to wipe out any more human planets.

Historia
In the opening volume of his acclaimed American Revolution series, Nathaniel Philbrick turns his keen eye to pre-Revolutionary Boston and the spark that ignited the American Revolution. In the aftermath of the Boston Tea Party and the violence at Lexington and Concord, the conflict escalated and skirmishes gave way to outright war in the Battle of Bunker Hill. It was the bloodiest conflict of the revolutionary war, and the point of no return for the rebellious colonists.

Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Historia
In September 1960, John Steinbeck and his poodle, Charley, embarked on a journey across America, from small towns to growing cities to glorious wilderness oases. Travels with Charley is animated by Steinbeck’s attention to the specific details of the natural world and his sense of how the lives of people are intimately connected to the rhythms of nature—to weather, geography, the cycles of the seasons. His keen ear for the transactions among people is evident, too, as he records the interests and obsessions that preoccupy the Americans he encounters along the way.

There are now 4 of my favorite books written by John Steinbeck
Revisado: 08-08-23
Dated but insightful. Gorgeous prose with a thoughtful depth of thought provoking observations. Makes me wonder what would be written about America today. I don’t think it would be an appealing picture.

Historia
Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only.
