All great scariest stories but that last one was the most terrifying… I love good true paranormal encounter story so I always enjoy books like this but the last one in this book was the worst because the author basically says if you read this story then the skin walker might come and get you next?!

Revisado: 04-09-25
I would consider this one the best installment in this series so far, I haven’t been listening to these in order because they are all just groups of short unrelated true stories. This one is by far filled with some of the most unique and bizarre paranormal encounters I have ever heard!!

But she knows what she saw: that night, in her hospital room, a woman tried to take her babies and replace them with her own...creatures. Yet when the police arrived, they saw no one. Everyone, from her doctor to her husband, thinks she's imagining things. A month passes. And one bright summer morning, the babies disappear from Lauren's side in a park. But when they're found, something is different about them.

Historia
The Bell Jar chronicles the crack-up of Esther Greenwood: brilliant, beautiful, enormously talented, and successful but slowly going under - maybe for the last time. Sylvia Plath masterfully draws the reader into Esther's breakdown with such intensity that Esther's insanity becomes completely real and even rational, as probable and accessible an experience as going to the movies. Such deep penetration into the dark and harrowing corners of the psyche is an extraordinary accomplishment and has made The Bell Jar a haunting American classic.

Very intense yet relateable
Revisado: 03-29-25
As a woman who has struggled with mental health and spent my late teens/early 20s in and out of mental health/substance abuse facilities, I very much related with this story.
I was surprised to find a story based in the 1950s/written in the 1960s to be so relatable. Especially when it came to how men generally treat women and how society expects a woman’s life to go.
I wonder if Sylvia Plath was autistic because the internal monologue of the MC, Esther, is extremely relatable to an autistic woman like myself.
The end of this book was a description of Sylvia Plath’s life leading up to her suicide and it made me realize how much she put herself into this character. I feel like Sylvia got married and had children because she felt like she had to, not because she wanted to. And in the time she lived in it was even harder for women to reject the societal pressure to marry and have children. I wonder if she would have found more joy in life if she hadn’t forced herself to take a life path that she didn’t want.

Historia
Possibly the darkest and most shocking six scary short stories yet ever created from bestselling author Stephen R. King. An instinct of passion and disrespect for decency and humanity fill this volume of life experiences we mostly keep in the back of our conscience, never wanting to bring to the forefront. Its truly sick!

Historia
During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of 30-something friends from Oxford meets to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students 10 years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands - the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. They arrive on December 30, just before a historic blizzard seals the lodge off from the outside world. Two days later, on New Year’s Day, one of them is dead.

Historia
Renowned academic Dr Sparling seeks help with his project on a remote Irish village. Historical researchers Ben and Chloe are thrilled to be chosen—until they arrive. The village is isolated and forgotten. There is no record of its history, its stories. There is no friendliness from the locals, only wary looks and whispers. The villagers lock down their homes at sundown. A nameless fear stalks the streets. Nobody will talk—nobody except one little girl. Her story strikes dread into the hearts of the newcomers. Three times you see him. Each night he comes closer.

Another great paranormal horror/thriller by AM Shine! I definitely plan on reading anything/everything else that this author publishes.
I love the integration of ancient Irish myths/legends & culture in the horror novels by this author. Irish myths/legends are some of the creepiest/scariest of all time in my opinion and making them into modern day horror stories is absolutely ingenious!
If you are looking for a thrilling, creepy, & absolutely terrifying horror novel then this is the book for you!

Getting snowed in at a luxurious, rustic ski chalet high in the French Alps doesn’t sound like the worst problem in the world. Especially when there’s a breathtaking vista, a full-service chef and housekeeper, a cozy fire to keep you warm, and others to keep you company. Unless that company happens to be eight coworkers…each with something to gain, something to lose, and something to hide.
