Couldn’t Finish
Revisado: 02-27-24
The computer narration was not as good as a person. The main character’s name was pronounced two different ways and was annoying as heck. Since a human was not narrating, there were not different voices for different characters. I could only hear 3 hours and I couldn’t finish.

Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

Predictable

The story was a bit predictable but it was interesting enough to keep listening. The narration could have been better.

I have enjoyed many of Paula*s witcg books, but I couldn't finish this one. Too dark for me with necromancy. Not like her other books to me.

Healing by experiencing your birth?!
Revisado: 03-20-18
What disappointed you about Migraine Relief with Three Brainwave Music Recordings?
I understand that many of us have a lot of issues that contribute to our illnesses, but to not start off with any kind of real explanation as to what is coming and go right into a hypnosis that you are supposed to do regularly that takes you back to when you were born as part of the path to your healing, I frankly found ridiculous and insulting. I didn't even finish the first session because the author lost all credibility with me. In the 1st exercise you are told to forgive your birth mother and birth father and everyone there at the time of your birth as if everything wrong with yourself was caused at birth!

I have enjoyed Philippa's books but this narrator speaks in a monotone most of the time and made listening pretty unbearable.

Historia
In the pre-dawn hours of August 24th, 1305, in London's Smithfield Prison, the outlaw William Wallace - hero of all the Scots and deadly enemy of King Edward of England - sits awaiting the dawn, when he is to be hanged and then drawn and quartered. This brutal sundering of his body is the revenge of the English. Wallace is visited by a Scottish priest who has come to hear his last confession, a priest who knows Wallace like a brother. Wallace's confession - the tale that follows - is all the more remarkable because it comes from real life.

Historia
All that history knows of Grace Plantagenet is that she was an illegitimate daughter of Edward IV and one of two attendants aboard the funeral barge of his widowed queen. Thus, she was half sister of the famous young princes, who, when this story begins in 1485, had been housed in the Tower by their uncle, Richard III, and are presumed dead. But in the 1490s, a young man appears at the courts of Europe claiming to be Richard, duke of York, seeking to claim his rightful throne from England's first Tudor king.

Nothing like Philippa Gregory
Revisado: 09-12-17
Where does The King's Grace rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have listened to most of Philippa Gregory's books and I have been searching for authors that write similar books. This book is nothing like Philippa Gregory's other than it being a work of historical fiction. Anne Smith's lack of history woven into the story (compared to what I'm used to) and her incessant use of the word Certe in the character conversations made me irritated to the point that I no longer wanted to finish the book at Chapter 9. Other people may enjoy this book, but not me.
