Fantastic
Revisado: 10-07-24
This story blew me away! It is great from start to finish. The characters are vividly fleshed out. The scares are real. And the ending is satisfying. Highly recommended!

Historia
Years after clean energy ended the world’s reliance on fossil fuels, a lull of peace encompasses all of humanity. Some think we should travel to the distant corners of the galaxy; others oppose the idea, thinking that the harnessed singularity reactors are unnatural. When a terrorist group attacks the Lunar colony, members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force are divided as a result of the incursion. Years later, Lieutenant Commander Kyle Torres comes face to face with old friends, as he’s thrown into an assignment that could change everything.

Great Sci-fi story
Revisado: 02-23-24
This is a great sci-fi story from the human perspective. Humans are colonizing space and with the moon’s and Mars’s beginnings of colonization, the UN of the future starts to unveil their technological secrets. And, they are plenty. A well-constructed storyline that will keep you guessing and reading/listening.

Historia
It has been thousands of years since beast-kind were united under one banner. The empire encompasses most of the known world, driving out or enslaving the lesser races without mercy. In a state of constant war and conquest, they have perfected the art of battle. For commoner wolf-kind Valian, being accepted and trained in a noble house's army was a dream come true. Without wealth or a family, it was his best shot at attaining honor and glory. Until fate intervened. When Valian discovers he's descended from an ancient and long-thought-extinct line, everything changes.

Fun read
Revisado: 11-22-23
Ryan has created a world of shifters and beasts and sucks you into the struggles within. The main character finds out he’s more than he thought and had been told. Being an orphan since birth he’s known nothing but a commoner’s life. We get to learn through his experience what it means to be a noble in this world. It’s a great fantastical story for anyone looking for a fantasy with shifters and monsters.

In the ruins of Caswell, Maine, Carter Bennett learned the truth of what had been right in front of him the entire time. And then it - he - was gone. Desperate for answers, Carter takes to the road, leaving family and the safety of his pack behind, all in the name of a man he only knows as a feral wolf. But therein lies the danger: wolves are pack animals, and the longer Carter is on his own, the more his mind slips toward the endless void of Omega insanity.

A good haunted jaunt
Revisado: 07-25-23
A good mix of the paranormal and mystery. Oh, and a good amount of steamy sex. Two lovers reunite after one leaves to take a job with the FBI. Seven years apart, hurt feelings, and bravado keep them apart after they reunite. But they finally make it there. Rain’s family is a hoot. I wish there could have been more of their story actually. They are so much fun. Can’t wait to read more in the series.

Growing up within the grind of the enchanted Circus Faire, Crew's unique talents have blossomed. Though, he's been warned that the King of Hawkswing is determined to eradicate a certain species, and for his own sake Crew must keep his formidable gifts under wraps. Relations between interspecies caused an imbalance of power and now are strictly forbidden. Dolorans, like Sage and her sister, are being hunted and persecuted because of their intense powers, leaving them no choice but to run, escaping the genocide of their kind.

Pretty good story
Revisado: 07-14-23
Defy the Stars a decent read. The characters are believable and the plot is a good one. I wish the ending would have been a bit more explosive, and that would be why I gave it a 4-star rating. It was entertaining throughout and expectations ran high for what Kru (sp?) might one day be capable of. I recommend this book to anyone looking for magic, fantasy, fae realms, and coming-of-age tropes.

They are coming. The countdown has begun. First visible only as blips on a telescope image, the discovery of objects approaching from Jupiter's orbit immediately sets humanity on edge. NASA doesn't even bother to deny the alien ships' existence. The popular Astral space app (broadcasting from the far side of the moon and accessible by anyone with Internet) has already shown the populace what is coming.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book
Revisado: 05-19-23
It’s the first in the series and leaves me wanting to devour the rest as soon as possible. The pace is a bit slow, but does pick up a bit at the end. The characters are believable and well-rounded, but do lack much growth through the story. However, compared to most alien invasion stories, the aliens take the entire story to show up. Humanity in this case and IRL are more akin to sheep, barely thinking for themselves. Going along with the next big trend is the epitome of greatness. When someone is forward thinking and is prepared when others aren’t, it’s a fight to keep what is yours.

It's 1946, and the dust of World War Two has just begun to settle. When famous archaeologist Rufus Denby returns to London, his life and reputation are as devastated as the city around him. He's used to the most glamorous of excavations, but can't turn down the offer of a job in rural Sussex. It's a refuge, and the only means left to him of scraping a living. With nothing but his satchel and a mongrel dog he's rescued from a bomb site, he sets out to investigate an ancient church in the sleepy village of Droyton.

Revisado: 03-10-23
This well-written and we’ll-performed novels (there are unexpectedly two books in this gem) offers a peek into the lives of gay men in the time just following World War II. Two war-weary gentlemen find each other after losing so much in the war. The rare ups and bounteous downs are interwoven into a lovely story of acceptance of self and and an appreciation of the beautiful English countryside (and those in it). And the wonderful subplot about finding our inner magic through healing grounds excels.

Oh my gods
Revisado: 02-28-23
I was introduced to T J Klune with the Extraordinaries. It was a wonderful trilogy. I mean… superheroes, gay superheroes, gay superhero boyfriends, and a superhero in Drag. I was in heaven. I happened to read a review disparaging the books. The reviewer didn’t care for the books because they weren’t up to snuff with what they’ve come to expect from the author. I put little stock in the review because I LOVED the story.
Unfortunately, I can now see what the reviewer meant, because this story is epic and amazing on so many levels. But if I were to review the Extraordinaries to this work, I might go with something like… The Extraordinaries in comparison to Wolfsong, is more of a popcorn flick where Wolfsong is a deeper, heartachingly beautiful story about a boy who finds his mate. The imagery is fantastic. The characters are solid and the story is epic. And wow. Please put Mr Klune on your list of authors to read and follow. You will not be disappointed or dry-eyed.
