The poetry of the writing of the author. You could feel the atmosphere of the land and setting where this book was written.

I loved the story line of this book.
I grew up in a small town during the 1940s and 1950s and truly identified with this small town, isolated area place that is no longer found today in our lives today.
It made me homesick and nostalgic for times past.
Very well written and if you enjoyed a simple life, you will enjoy this beautiful book!

Historia
Milwaukee bar owner Mackenzie "Mack" Dalton has a unique neurological condition that gives her extra perceptive senses, and police detective Duncan Albright is convinced Mack's abilities can be used to help catch crooks. Mack may be at pro at mixing drinks, but she's still an amateur when it comes to solving crimes - and she's not sure she should mix business with pleasure by working with a man who stirs up such strong feelings in her.

Enjoyed the novel approach to solving mysteries by Mac even though her methods were not understood by many.
By the end of the book, I was able to not only understand her methods, but believed in them.
I only wish they could have been real.
Having been married to a lawman, officer, for many years it would have been much easier to have that kind of ability or something similar..
Instead, everything was done the old fashioned way.
I truly enjoyed this book and it kept my attention throughout!

Historia
As a professional thief, Esme Bellerose's daylong job interview was going well: She'd come through most of it with only a black eye, bloody lip, broken wrist, a few cracked ribs, and talon marks from a ruby-throated dragon - but at least she wasn't missing any pieces. And if she could only survive until the five o'clock hour, she'd land the job that was every mystic thief's dream: employment at SPL Inc. But the head of SPL, Elric Ostergaard, has other plans, and he's put one additional task on Esme's job application, which must be completed before he'll hire her.

A Spell to Unbind
Revisado: 11-10-23
Enjoyed this book wholeheartedly except for the frequent use of profanity.
The characters were interesting, the mentioning of the Greek god’s unique, and it was action packed.
Would not recommend it for my younger readers but to those with less sensitive ears, it would be appropriate. The story is well thought out and the use of a dog with the power to freely give the gift of healing and extended life is appealing..
This is a critique from an 82 year grandmother who is pretty choosy about what she recommends,
so please make up your mind after reading the forward.

I enjoyed this audio book enough to look for another by the same author.
It was a free one sonI tried it as when these books are offered this way , you can almost always count on them being of excellent quality.
I enjoyed the tiny mystery of trying to find out who the “bad guys “ were, while keeping the ghost character going .
The book was done in good taste with a subtle attraction between the main character and Mr. Marlow.
I am looking forward to a possible sequel.

Historia
Mackenzie "Mack" Dalton is a Milwaukee bar owner with a nose for trouble - literally. A neurological glitch has left her with extra-perceptive senses. So when she stumbles upon a dead body in the alley behind the bar - the same spot where her own father was shot eight months earlier - she can tell right away there's something fishy in the air. The lead detective thinks there's a link between the two deaths, and he'll need Mack's help to sniff out the murderer. But when all the evidence points to her as the most likely culprit, it could be an early last call for Mack.

Enjoyed “Murder on the rocks” very much!
Like the premise of the heroine being able to have extraordinary abilities without the story being being really being afar out sci-fi story.
Her abilities were not predictable so you could not plan on easy solutions.
Also enjoyed the historic inclusion of the 1930s underworld and the use of today’s computer age all in one setting.
This writer is multifaceted.
I appreciated her very much!

Historia
Maintaining stability in a city full of pirates is a delicate balancing act, particularly when one is motivated by making sure the common folk are taken care of instead of simple personal greed. Jarlaxle and his band of rogues known as Bregan D'aerthe are doing their best, stabilizing the city after warding off a terrible attack by demonic and gnoll forces. But now three merchant ships have been destroyed and sent to the ocean floor - obliterated in such a quick and brutal manner that it makes little sense it’s pirates seeking plunder.

Loved this story!
Action packed from the beginning! Love the characters depicted in the story. Each one having an unique, and unusual characteristic that adds to the story line and the entertainment of the entire sequence of events.
By listening to this short story, I am more than tempted to find out what the next adventure’s Jax, Regis and the rest of the motley crew will get up to.
Even for an 82 year old Sci Fi lover from way back Salvatore has always been a favorite author.

If it weren't for the fact that she's replacing a dead man, Kelly Jackson would love her new job managing the Redwood Cove Bed and Breakfast on the coast of Northern California. But Bob Phillips did plunge off the cliff to his death, and Kelly's starting to think it may not have been an accident. Bob's retired friends - The "Silver Sentinels" - are also on the case, especially when Kelly is attacked...and another body turns up.

Murder at Redwood Cove
Revisado: 09-12-23
This was an entertaining mystery that kept my attention during the entire Audiobook!
I really enjoyed the inclusion of all ages in the narration.
The older generation was depicted as on the ball, detectives in their own right, proactive in both figuring out the code the murdered first victim left behind but also protecting the child who was in danger and the investigator in the case.
I also liked the use of the children in the book. Keeping them special in uniquely different ways.
Using the poaching of the abalone was a twist as I personally had not even considered something like that as a crime.
There was quite a bit of serendipity in this book but it could have been true.
Again, this 82 year old lady from an independent living establishment enjoyed this book and would share it with her family.

I have really enjoyed the first two books of this trilogy and look forward to listening to the last one.
Jane not listened to this author before and enjoyed his thoughts on the many topics he addresses in the series.
He mentions terraforming, genetic engineering, mysticism, and other things that I do not remember now. He is multifaceted enough to keep things interesting all through the book.

I really enjoyed this audio book!
Will listen to it again at a later date,to hear what I missed, as I listened to it straight through!
Yes, there is quite a lot of descriptive violence in it, most no worse than what is on television for our children
and teens as well as the general public to see
Since I worked in a hospital since I was 15 and was married to a policeman for over 24 years the medical information was excellent!
If one is interested in an old fashioned mystery with few story holes and a good story, I would recommend you checking out this great audiobook!

Totally enjoyed the accent of the narrator!
Her voice added to the quality of the story.
For those who do not understand accents or have problems with accents, there could be a problem. But an English story placed in old England really needs that kind of an accent!
I love these stories as although they are sort of formula but always delightful in their approach to the mystery and the solving of the problems to get to the bad guys.
Each character is fully filled out so that they become friends or friendamies as the case may be.
I can certainly pass these books on to my girl friends and grandchildren.
No profanity or graphic sexual content.
Love the author!
