Historia
“I’m sorry but the answer’s no.” Reluctant author, Anthony Horowitz, has had enough. He tells ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne that after three books he’s splitting and their deal is over. The truth is that Anthony has other things on his mind. His new play, a thriller called Mindgame, is about to open at the Vaudeville Theater in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, Hawthorne declines a ticket to the opening night. The play is panned by the critics. In particular, Sunday Times critic Margaret Throsby gives it a savage review, focusing particularly on the writing.

Different from his other books
Revisado: 05-01-25
I found the characters in this story difficult to like. Also, the author’s relationship with his wife is very strange. I’ll bet they have a lot of trust issues. The plot was interesting but the writing seemed tedious.

Historia
It was summer in the mountains when five small children vanished from their nursery school picnic. The heat was stifling that day, the tinkle of an ice-cream van in the air.... Three-and-a-half years later, in the dead of winter, the children are returned to their families...one by one. All except for Ivy - the granddaughter of Homicide Detective Kate Wakeland. The other four children say Ivy is dead.

Good Read
Revisado: 04-09-25
I thought the book was well-written and the author told of all the twists and turns that police must go through to figure out who did the crime and why. There were parts of the story that seemed too-detail or unnecessary. I like this author, but I find it difficult to enjoy books about missing children.

Good characters development
Revisado: 09-26-24
It was an interesting and unusual story. The author took time to develop her characters. She was intricate in her scene descriptions but not to the point of being boring.
The narration was good but sometimes I couldn’t tell which character was speaking.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

I didn’t finish it
Revisado: 11-16-23
I got tired of reading about the very rigid characters. The anti-religion, anti Christianity, and anti-men aspect was repetitive and boring. The author has a way with words and I had read a short article by her and greatly enjoyed her writing. But I grew tired of the constant dogmatic preaching of the main character.

Historia
Driving home from a dinner party in the village of Sumpton Harcourt, Rory and Molly Harris, the new vicar and his wife, strain to see the road ahead - and then suddenly brake, screeching to a halt. Right in front of them, aglow in the headlights, a body hangs from a gnarled tree at the edge of town. An elderly spinster has been murdered - and the villagers are bewildered as to who would commit such a crime. Agatha Raisin rises to the occasion (a little glad for the excitement, to tell the truth, after a long run of lost cats and divorces on the books).

Revelation was written because God wants us to know what the future holds. For Christians, the prophetic truths within provide wisdom, reassurance, and discernment - while for unbelievers, Revelation is a plea to receive God’s grace while there is still time. Best-selling author Amir Tsarfati examines what Revelation makes known about the end times and beyond.

Historia
Agatha has fallen head over heels in love - again. This time, she has her eye on the local gardener, George Marston, but so do other women in their little Cotswold village. Shamelessly determined, Agatha will do anything to get her man - including footing the bill for a charity ball just for the chance to dance with him. And then George doesn't even show up. Only partly deterred, Agatha goes looking for him, and finds his dead body in a compost heap. Murder is definitely afoot, but this killer chose no ordinary weapon: A poisonous snake delivered the fatal strike.

Penelope Keith’s voice is the voice of Agatha Raisin. The story was interesting. But the narration just wasn’t that good. Too many of the voices sounded alike.

Historia
Clare Cosi used to manage the historic Village Blend coffeehouse…until she opted for quieter pastures and a more suburban life. But after ten years and a little friendly cajoling from the owner (a fresh pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain was all it took), she's back to the grind. With a sprawling rent-free apartment directly above the Village Blend, her cat Java by her side, and plenty of coffeehouse redecorating ideas, Clare is thrilled to return to work. Until she discovers the assistant manager unconscious in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere.

Will she ever learn
Revisado: 05-27-23
The recording of this story has a lot of glitches and pauses which distract from it.
Agatha may have been a smart business woman, but she is as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to men. After awhile her inconsiderate treatment of people gets annoying. Hope the next book is better.
