Banger?! Oh FFS.
Revisado: 11-17-24
Another King Master piece ruined by the mispronounced city of Bangor. B-A-N-G-O-R. Not Banger I swear to god if one more movie tv show book or person pronounces it wrong I'm going to take a long walk. No one from Maine talks like that. as someone from Maine I'm disappointed that Mr. King would allow this BS to continue an affront to his home town.
the story is amazing a real culture piece and look at the human psychology. when it's striped raw. the narrator also did an amazing job except that one word. As someone from Maine it's like nails on the chalkboard. bad enough I'm tempted to return the book.

fun litrpg
Revisado: 10-07-24
so i listen to or have listened to alot of litrpg books. this one was a little different an adult traped in a kids body. his exp. taken by the system and he doesn't get a class until system day. He get raised a crusty old warrior. or is he a rouge? or is he and illusionist? With the towns weaver trying to downfall him at every turn he's has a rough road ahead.
standard coming of age story boy makes some friends and gets a pet. But that's standard for these story's. I did enjoy the interaction with the shop keeper.
the narrator did a great job with some unique and distinctive voices. over all it was a great story. and look forward to listening to the next book.

Great start
Revisado: 06-20-24
Great start to a series but 10 to 15 years between books. with nothing to show except excuses. it was an awsome book. I even sent money to the author. it's just too bad the story was never finished. but life happens.

you have to be realistic about these thing.
Revisado: 01-19-24
Say one thing for Joe Abercrombie say he knows how to tell a story. I've listen to the first law trilogy at least ½ a dozen times through now. and everytime I catch something new. Joe's characters are well done with each of them being multi faceted. And not one dimensional. you love and hate each character at the same time. they all have flaws that make them more human. with more than one story going on at once the when you get to the end you realize that it was all part of a bigger picture. and leave you saying by the dead.. if you enjoy grim dark this is a book for you. much a kith to Mark Lawrence the red queen and broken empire series. and the performance is well done. the differences in tye characters and not just voices but thier personalities aswell. so if you've looking at this review still you should get at least the first book you won't be disappointed. if I was to give gifts to people from audible it would be this book.

Breakers is Shepherd Grey’s account of what life looks like after organized civilization crumbles as he and his faithful canine companion, Rommel, venture out from their home in Virginia to try and count themselves among the survivors. It has been several years since the outbreak began. The virus is just a sick and twisted part of life now. You test as much as you can, but there is no “preventing” it, only staying alive until you catch it. “Red you’re dead” is a phrase all too commonly heard throughout the world. You have your outlaw rowdy gunslingers, your criers, your survivors, ...

Great Story!

a different spin on the zombie troupe.
Revisado: 07-01-23
Though only a few episodes in. this series has me hooked. Before I started it. I looked ahead to see if it was completed which it is. that out of the way. the story follows shepard and his dog romel. the "infected" are zombie like only in the sense they are infected and slowly dying. it is a look at human condition. and is prevalent at this day and age. though it was produced in 2017 it was almost foreshadowing of the covid scare of 2020. and how people react when they feel threatened and scared. worth a listen. well written and well acted.

good story but the narrator 🙄
Revisado: 04-05-22
while i love this story from a small town here in the county. just the next time over.
the narrator constantly saying "Banger"
instead of BANGOR emphasis on the OR. I mean i hear that everywhere when ever i meet someone not from maine they think we all talk like some down east fisherman. its either that or this narrator and everone else are a bunch of idiots the never learned English. i mean he can properly pronounce some small village in Vietnam but no the name of a city here in America? fyi for the narrator don't try to talk like your from somewhere because you think its funny or cool. just dont.

while i enjoy a variety of Audible Titles. I was at a stand still looking for something to listen to. I stumbled on this title by accident. I normally dont listen to sci fy because space novles dont interest me. if you enjoy either millitary or space novellas Phules company should hold your interest. i enjoyed the lay out of the novel how its written as from memoirs of the butler like how starwars is from the perspective of the droids. well done some of it was a little dry and drawn out. and predictable but hey its a story and not a mystery. and the narrator did an excellent job with the different cameos of voices. over all it was great.
