Historia
It’s important to look after your crew when you’re in the battlefield salvage business. It’s stressful work at the best of times, and although your employees are unlikely to be happy it makes sense to keep them alive. So when Saevus Corax finds himself having to capture a castle to stop his men from being killed, he has no choice but to give it a try. Needless to say, the conventional rules of siegecraft are unlikely to be followed.

Ben Onwukwe and KJ Parker together is incredible.
Revisado: 09-25-24
Mr. Onwukwe’s incredible voice brings to life all the wonderful characters and isnightful descriptions of KJ Parkers Corax trilogy. Parker has such incredible knowledge of the past, thoughts on life. This paired with his trademark engineers perspective, as he dissects compounds, mechanics, literature and warfare for some very compelling fantasy. The fun prose read by Mr.Onwukwe is the kind of magic when your favorite actor works with your favorite director. Its just fantastic.
My only note, and this has been consistent in all of KJ Parkers audio books, is that the editor does not double check their work. As there are times words are repeated as the cuts were made in the audio but not double checked.

This is the true story of Aemilius Felix Boioannes the younger, the intended and unintended consequence of his life, the bad stuff he did on purpose and the good stuff that happened in spite of him.

Fine
Revisado: 04-14-23
Narrator is stellar with a commanding, luxurious voice. But this story felt hollow. No character building, no obstacles. The protagonist just asks for favors or says “I read it in a book” and gets whatever he wants with little agency or difficulty A disappointing read after “16 Ways to Defend a Walled City” but a good farce on religion, if you’re into beating that dead old horse.

Historia
A siege is approaching, and the city has little time to prepare. The people have no food and no weapons, and the enemy has sworn to slaughter them all. To save the city will take a miracle, but what it has is Orhan. A colonel of engineers, Orhan has far more experience with bridge-building than battles, is a cheat and a liar, and has a serious problem with authority. He is, in other words, perfect for the job. Sixteen Ways To Defend a Walled City is the story of Orhan, son of Siyyah Doctus Felix Praeclarissimus, and his history of the Great Siege.

In the “compellingˮand “pitch perfectˮ follow-up to Tana French’s runaway best seller In the Woods, Cassie Maddox has transferred out of the Dublin Murder Squad - until an urgent telephone call brings her back to an eerie crime scene. The victim looks exactly like Cassie and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used as an undercover cop. Suddenly, Cassie is back undercover, to find out not only who killed this young woman, but, more importantly, who she was.

Historia
Warning: You may have a huge, invisible spider living in your skull. This is not a metaphor. You will dismiss this as ridiculous fearmongering. Dismissing things as ridiculous fearmongering is, in fact, the first symptom of parasitic spider infection - the creature secretes a chemical into the brain to stimulate skepticism, in order to prevent you from seeking a cure. That’s just as well, since the “cure” involves learning what a chain saw tastes like. You can’t feel the spider, because it controls your nerve endings.

Historia
If the broken neon signs, shuttered storefronts, and sub-standard housing didn’t tip you off, you’ve just wandered into the city of “Undisclosed”. You don’t want to be caught dead here, because odds are you just might find yourself rising from the grave. That hasn’t stopped tourists from visiting to check out the unusual phenomena that hangs around our town like radioactive fallout. Interdimensional parasites feeding on human hosts, paranormal cults worshipping demonic entities, vengeful teenage sorcerers, we’ve got it all.

Simple, like something a high schooler would write. nothing unique. Most frustrating is that it's a thriller that offers no clues, so the conclusions may as well be random. Repeats details throughout instead of moving story forward. Found myself rolling my eyes a few times and laughing at 'serious' parts.
But its an easy listen if you just need something on in the background or to fall asleep.
