great characters and very good performance .... but all in all it didn't really go much of anywhere in this episode....
Revisado: 07-17-24
I liked the overall story.. plot i guess... but more, i think, could have been achieved... more meat. I liked the Sgt back on the farm.. more could have been done with that interesting situation... things like that. the star of the book spends a bit too much time moaning about things that must be done... over and over. hey I liked it ... you should read it... we can all have opinions on so many aspects of a solid story.

Historia
Captain Axel Finn has spent his life running salvage missions with an alien crew and their war bot. This motley group has found refuge on his ship from their own tumultuous pasts. But little do any of them know, beneath his gentle demeanor, their steadfast captain is far from the peace following, adventure seeking giant of a man they all love. His pacifist ethos meant to safeguard them has edged them to the brink of financial ruin and drawn dangerous enemies.

there is a solid core here a good story and characters ... but
Revisado: 06-25-24
solid core of a story, excellent characters... but something is off ..
a bit story line wise ... I was inclined to skip ahead knowing often that nothing was really happening from time too time... I think this could have been a better shorter story with more bang... I am not expressing this well ... I am getting book 2 hoping the author "gets on with it" ... gets big wheels in motion... take the remaining cast and make things happen. like I said... great characters ... solid story idea... now let's get on with it.

Historia
In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

it seemed like a good idea, it just never seemed to work.
Revisado: 06-21-24
I felt like I was begging it to end and when ... by comparison... it suddenly did I wanted to celebrate. lots of words.... and again I think a great idea... timely even politically these last few years ... I love Dean Koontz... I have read just about every book he has written... but maybe not lately... maybe I am too critical... my neck hurts! lol!

virtual voice needs work .... but it did get the job done.
Revisado: 03-16-24
I like the price of the virtual voice and it is not bad.... but the story lacked the kind of "PERFORMANCES" we have grown to love around here... it was really missed... the added dimension... character and color that comes with a real artist. I guess I would say the virtual voice got the job done... but book 1 SEEMED way better with performance.

Historia
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.

Historia
"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?
