Love NET Bible, Voice acting and editing need work
Revisado: 05-15-21
I love the translation in print. The cadence with which the voice actor reads makes it feel stiff and unnatural to me. That is clearly an opinion, but it really makes it sound stiff to me.
Fact however: they didn’t seem to do much quality checking on the editing. Ephesians 5 for example, toward the end has several places in a row where the words cut out then resume further along. It’s not like it’s any book, it’s the Bible, you need all the words.
Example: “this is a sentence I am reading as it should be”
What’s there: “this is a sent reading as ould be”
For a reason that makes no sense to me they broke the entire bible into 23 parts…and that are called “part 1”, “part 2”, etc
Within the parts you can see the books and chapters, but you have to guess what part the book is in. I would MUCH rather have one big book with the books and chapters in it, or better yet, two parts, Old and New Testament.

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Who is your sound engineer?!
Revisado: 04-06-18
A good amount of the book cuts off the last word in each phrase like some sound engineer selected all and applied a sharp fade to the end of each clip and then never listened to the result!
Then there is the obnoxious way in which the voice actor, who is otherwise good, “whisper-yells yelled phrases. I get not wanting to blow out my speakers, but his voice is so low most of those lines are unintelligible!
Further, there was even an entire phrase / sentence/ paragraph that was repeated back to back like the engineer copy-pasted and forgot the duplicate in there.
Decent book, good acting (other than the yelling) and horrible, HORRIBLE sound engineering quality.
Ps, the beginning of the book is fine, halfway through it starts cutting off the last word. Fail.

Do you enjoy complete a complete suspension of disbelief?
Revisado: 06-07-17
Supposedly smart, out of shape, fat kid leads elite merc unit because ... not sure why other than daddy leaving him money.
Oh, and he likes My Little Ponies...and talks to them...and a fit girl falls for him because...the author made her?
Now at first I thought, ok, kids gonna work hard and turn it around...nope, we keep getting descriptions of how fat he is, and he keeps getting more and more ridiculously powerful and impossibly lucky.
Ok so robots, space, and merc warfare were turned into a friggin brony incompetent chunker with a furry alien friend insta-bond because...we needed more unbelievable crap in it.
Had potential. Wasted it, not the narrators fault

Where'd the main character go?
Revisado: 10-27-16
So now the main assassin character is a queen with boundless power...she roams around the world with pretty much every other queen IN the world...they are all powerful too. Also the men are. Itching more than one dimensional puppies following them around and generally being stupid as the women run things.
Also there are quite a few graphic sex scenes. It's like it's a different author.
Disappointed . Don't really even care about finishing the last few hours, it's going nowhere interesting quick.

Forget Avalon
Revisado: 02-10-15
I was disappointed that this book goes back in time and looks at the supposed fall of the empire. The problem is, like the marines on Avalon, I no longer cared. The leaps being made and the utter lack of care that ANYONE in the established government seems to take on any matter left breathtaking holes in it for me. Likewise the face that there were NO good poor and oppressed was incredible as well. It seemed as though the entire under city just wanted to rape. Nor, I'm afraid (spoiler alert) do a few months of tennis lessons make a boy , especially a spoiled one, a man. (Yes folks, tennis lessons for the prince and he stops whoring)
All that having been said, I suspended disbelief and finished it all, but if you're reading this series, you can probably skip this book and remain more satisfied.

Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Roy, Roy, Why oh why did you murder Dolorous Ed?
Revisado: 01-07-13
Would you consider the audio edition of A Feast for Crows to be better than the print version?
As others have commented, many of the characters no longer sound like their former selves. I was seriously shocked and dismayed when my favorite character, Dolorous Ed shows up and sounds almost like The Old Bear did, all gruff instead of slow and slightly south-african sounding.
The recording also didn't have the same quality from the outset, though an hour into it you get used to it.
In general though the performance continues to be good, even though there feel like there are fewer voices than before...or at least they are all changed up.
