Historia
Mormons, or members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, form a growing population in both numbers and influence. Yet few people have more than a passing knowledge of the document that defines and drives this important movement: the Book of Mormon. A former Mormon and an adult convert to Christianity, author Ross Anderson provides a clear summary of the Book of Mormon including its history, teachings, and unique features.

Author was LDS & became disbeliever, My impression was that was his purpose for writing the book.

Until I realized his justification I only questioned how his knowledge was so slanted and after that, I found that it was wasting my time… so I finished it and didn’t recommend it to anyone.

Historia
Sheriff Cliff Lansing is a single father, a part-time rancher, and an overworked lawman suddenly faced with a serial killing spree. A madman is moving through San Phillipe County on New Mexico's Continental Divide, leaving an owl feather by each of his ritually mutilated victims. While Lansing first suspects that Apache tribal politics lie behind the killings, he cannot ignore a troubled boy who claims to see the murders in his sleep, and then leads Lansing to the bodies. Suddenly, the sheriff is plunged into a bizarre world of Native American legend and magic.

Historia
The body in the arroyo belonged to a man who’d made his living plundering ancient Indian sites. And the only witness to the crime would not change his story: a demon had killed his friend. Sheriff Cliff Lansing has an unexplained death on his hands, and it’s only the beginning. In Las Palmas, New Mexico, a US senator is on his way to meet a Zuni shaman who is holding up a land swap involving 150,000 acres in New Mexico and Arizona. The senator intends to push the deal through. But in a long, dark night on the high desert, he is led into a storm of violence and shame.

Very Enlightening & Enjoyable
Revisado: 10-23-20
Justice Thomas’ interview gave me a huge desire to read his book. I was teaching school in KC during the MLK Assassination ... six classes of 9th Grade students each day & the loss of Dr King & Robert Kennedy so close together was truly a life changing time for both my students & me.
Justice Thomas’ experiences gave me a renewed freshness of the National turmoil we all were going through .... wish I could get my former students to reflect on how those assassinations and race riot events affected their lives, know it changed me.
Thanks for the Justice’ Interview.

Listened to some parts even more. Friends in the Church have told of similar dreams and visions but their accounts were just snippets when compared to this beautiful story ... read this account during and through the eclipse and Harvey Storm & Flood ... I'm hearing God's command to "Wake Up My Children" (recommend this read) ... it is just one man's vision but there are haunting truths that run right thru this story to my spiritual conscience.

Historia
It’s amateur hour at the White House. So says New York Times best-selling author Edward Klein in his political exposé The Amateur. Tapping into the public’s growing sentiment that President Obama is in over his head, The Amateur argues that Obama’s toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance has run our nation and his presidency off the rails.

Listened to it twice. Must have info for election.
Revisado: 06-30-12
Would you listen to The Amateur again? Why?
Yes ... already listened twice. But, this book is factual about the President, and requires us to reflect on these developments. After I assimilate fully, I think I'll be better able assist others to help remove President Obama from office.
What did you like best about this story?
The best parts were about Mrs. Obama, Vallerie Jerred, and Oprah. Of course the inside looks at the inter-workings of the Obama White House ... who's really in charge. These parts were really interesting.
What does John McLain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He provides an excellent read ... nothing is distracting or boring, McLain provides a very professional presentation.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened as I drove to Kansas and I listened to it twice. Got even more information by listening to it a second time.
Any additional comments?
I was totally convinced by this book that President Obama has to go. The author convinced me that his book title is totally correct. I will buy the hard copy for my library. If anyone thinks this a boring book - they're in the tank for Obama and there is NO HELP for them. Enough of those will mean NO HELP for our children's America.

Historia
Before he became one of America's most respected statesmen, Bob Dole was an average citizen serving heroically for his country. The bravery he showed after suffering near-fatal injuries in the final days of World War II is the stuff of legend. Now, for the first time in his own words, Dole tells the moving story of his harrowing experience on and off the battlefield, and how it changed his life.

A Real American Hero and Leader
Revisado: 02-23-12
Where does One Soldier's Story rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the top 10 percent.
What other book might you compare One Soldier's Story to and why?
This book tells a humble hero's story of a man who was a Presidential candidate, US Senator, US Army Officer in WW II, and disabled WWII Veteran and a whole lot more. Dole was/is all of those things. Back when he ran for President, I didn't know anything about him. Then, the press did a real number on him and we all looked at him as Bob Dull .... wow, were we ever stupid for that. This book makes up for that and gives us all a great look at the man the news media made us overlook.
Which character – as performed by Paul Hecht and Cynthia Darlowe – was your favorite?
Narrated by Paul Hecht , Cynthia Darlowe. Excellent job by the narrators.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
His first trip back home from the VA Hospital in Topeka, just for a visit and the awakening that it became.
Any additional comments?
Before I read this book; I never felt that Mr. Bob Dole was any more special than any other Kansas Senator. After listening to it, I wish I'd had this information when he was running for President. Bob Dole is the real deal. We missed a tremendous opportunity to have him for our President. Not that Clinton is not the real deal, but Dole certainly was as capable as Clinton.
I definitely recommend this book - especially for high school kids, service men and women and veterans.
