I dont have high expectations for the Audible originals, though they do at times surprise. This story is supposed to keep you at your toes, but it falls flat. There is no suspense, the storyline is too obvious and the author underestimates their audience, over-explaining everything. Liked the very last sentence well enough, but that was the first sentence in the book that I liked.

Sula is a wonderful and challenging story, beautifully narrated by the author. it is worth listening to again and again. Perhaps it may even teach us something about attempting to understand other people instead of judging them.

Wonderful to rediscover Rowling's writing after so many years. Having Stephen Fry reading it makes everything even greater. He is great at giving the characters different voices without overdoing it. Never monotonous, never tedius. The story is lovely to listen to, with Rowling's colorful and fun language. I am absorbed in the world of Harry Potter, just as I was as a twelve-year-old when this book was first published.
