I liked seeing the differences between the generations in response to change. Welcoming change, resisting it strongly or struggling between the two. The characters had secrets and reasons for their behaviors that were slowly revealed. They influenced each other and grew into more complete, free people. Satisfying ending.

I needed a break from dark mysteries and evil, so chose this book for a bit of cheer - Christmas cheer. It was free for me from Audible with “computer generated narration”. I tried it and was surprised by the pleasant warmth of the narration. Sometimes I felt the inflection was off a bit, but not really a spoiler. Multi-generational character cast with their own struggles and stories. Try it!

Surprisingly, unexpectedly fun! I chose this from Audible because it was free. I thought, “Why not?” The narrator did a great job. The political and tech levels are out- of-date, but the story is very interesting and complicated with humor complex characters and twists and turns. Enjoy!
