Historia
From her earliest days, Mary Magdalene has known fear and loss at a level so deep she has no hope of surfacing. Bound to the demons within her and incapable of freeing herself, Mary walks in shadow—until one day she encounters a healer, a rabbi who is radically different from the religious leaders and family members who could do nothing to help her. One touch from Jesus and Mary is never the same.

Redemptive story
Revisado: 04-18-25
I enjoyed this audible, but it was slow at times, especially in the beginning and middle. I wish the narrator would have written more about the Lord’s passion and post-resurrection and left out some of the slower preceding parts. I love that it was biblically accurate as far as quoting the Bible.

Great info. I think I need the hard copy to really work through it but this was still helpful. The AI narration is a little weird but it works.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Fun information for Potter super fans
Revisado: 11-18-24
I absolutely love the Harry Potter series. I’ve listened to and read each book 15-20x so to say I’m familiar with the story is an understatement. This audio book gives some background information into the magical world and some key characters throughout the series. The amount of thought and detail that JKR put into this series is truly astounding. All the narrators are wonderful and really add to the book. I gave it 4/5 stars because I found some parts were a little dull. Overall it’s a fun listen.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

An incredible life
Revisado: 06-25-24
Louie’s life is not short of incredible. This is a very unique, often unbelievable story and definitely worth reading. The narration was great. I missed having dialogue in the book, but I understand with a story like this there isn’t any way to incorporate it without making stuff up. Definitely recommend!

Just mediocre for me

I love the story of redemption and the narration was great. It seems to lack depth to me though, it felt like there was no climax. I wouldn’t read it again.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-14-24
The first part of the book was really slow and boring, I almost stopped. It got more exciting towards the end; everything happened in the last 30 min or so. There are so many unanswered questions, it felt like a very pointless journey . I liked this series but this is my least favorite of the books by far. Don’t recommend it.
