Historia
Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too. Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Uther claims Morgan’s mother, the Lady Igraine as his queen.

Brilliant and feminist retelling of the life of a woman in her power
Revisado: 02-03-24
I wasn’t familiar with the story of Morgan le fey before, and from the description on the paperback, I was expecting a little more magic to be included in this telling. I was initially going to to dock a star because of that, however once I finished, there was no doubt in my mind that this is a moving, feminist deliverance of an archetype we all have the power to tap into, and absolutely deserved 5 stars.
About half way through the book I read the description on audible and familiarized myself with the legend, when in many instances she seems to be demonized and infamous for her powers and prowess. The beauty of the fae and witches and goddess myths is that all of these women are wholly complex and brilliant in their own right, but have been made so one dimensional by a patriarchal society that only sees their ability as darkness. How tragic
This story goes into the life leading up to Morgan’s famed infamy. A telling of grief, loss, betrayal, imprisonment, and a life chosen in childhood before she was able to choose herself. Despite it all, in her adult years she rises and refuses to live a life that is anything other than her own. The strength she shows at the very end was so moving. This story was immaculately told and I definitely recommend it for lovers of fantasy, myth, and the Celts.

Historia
Heather never thought she would compete in panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She'd never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought. Dodge has never been afraid of panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game; he's sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he's not the only one with a secret....

It was alright
Revisado: 07-20-21
I found the free version of this (I believe it’s called Panic: Ghosts and Legends), and that is told like scary stories around a campfire, which had me enthralled while I listened, so I decided to give this one a try. I will start by saying that I did enjoy listening to this story, but the shorter versions were a bit more… edgy and interesting. I read other reviews before saying this one is just too unrealistic to really get into it, but it kept me interested until the end. Although I do agree some parts are just spectacularly astray from true reality that you just have to shake your head a bit. But like I said, it’s a good story and will keep you wanting to listen until the end, even if only to figure out how it actually ends. Definitely more of a YA listen

Historia
Erin Blake has one of those names. A name that, like Natalee Holloway or Elizabeth Smart, is inextricably linked to a grisly crime. As a toddler, Erin survived for three days alongside the corpse of her murdered mother, and the case - which remains unsolved - fascinated a nation. Her father's identity unknown, Erin was taken in by her mother's best friend and has become a relatively normal teen in spite of the looming questions about her past.

More for teens/YA
Revisado: 06-02-21
I didn’t realize this story was geared more toward teens and young adults when I started listening, so it may be a bit immature for some. But I thought despite that it was a pretty good listen. If you know anything about mystery and crime novels you may be able to predict who dun it pretty early on as I did but again, still a decent listen.
